Singer Alexandra Burke wants to be an actress.

The 25-year-old singer – who shot to fame after winning ‘The X Factor’ UK in 2008 – has been trying her hand at different things over the past two years to diversify her career but she’s now decided to take up theatre classes in a bid to become a Hollywood starlet.

She said: ”It’s been challenging. It’s something that I wouldn’t say comes naturally to me. In school, I loved doing singing, dancing and acting. It came naturally to me at 16, I just need to get back on to it so it can be natural again.”

The ‘Bad Boys’ hitmaker has already picked her dream leading man to star opposite, ‘Mandela: A Long Walk to Freedom’ star Idris Elba.

Alexandra has a crush on the 41-year-old actor and dreams of being his co-star.

When asked what her dream role is, she told the Belfast Telegraph newspaper: ”Anything that’s next to Idris Elba because I love him! He’s such a talented young man.”
