Britain’s Got Talent 2014 hosts Ant and Dec have revealed becoming a dad has made Simon Cowell even grumpier!

Last week saw Simon welcome his newborn son Eric into the world, dashing off out of auditions to fly to New York to be with mum Lauren Silverman.

But the baby hasn’t softened tough judge Simon Cowell, with Dec revealing: “If anything, it’s made him grumpier!

“I don’t know why, but maybe he’s afraid of becoming too soft now he’s facing parenthood.”

Speaking on the red carpet at Britain’s Got Talent auditions in London last week, the boys spoke about this auditions and promised yet more unseen acts.

“Britain does still have talent, lots of it actually,” Ant said. “We’re constantly surprised by it because every year, you think ‘Surely we’ve seen it all?’

“But you haven’t!”

He added to Unrealitytv: “There’s stuff this year that we haven’t seen before, and I think we might have seen the winner already.”

Britain’s Got Talent 2014 airs on ITV in the Spring.
