Celebrity Weddings Add Dazzle To A Chaotic Year

Celebrity Weddings

Last year was without any doubt a great one as far as celebrity weddings were concerned, with glorious couples such as the award-winning Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin, and Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner all tying the knot. The chances of this year being filled with the same amount of wedding fanfare is, however, very slim. The Covid-19 pandemic has resulted in countless couples putting their weddings on hold till such a time when the chaos has subsided. There have, nevertheless, been a number of A-listers who either tied the knot before most parts of the world went into isolation and quarantine, or who opted for very intimate ceremonies that adhered to all the social distancing and other lockdown regulations.

Tim weds his Miss Universe

On 18 January 2020, just before the world plummeted into a Covid-19 frenzy, former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow married Miss Universe 2017, Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters in a gorgeous ceremony at sunset at the La Paris Estate in Cape Town, South Africa. Demi donned a stunning sleeveless wedding gown for the ceremony, which included 260 guests. Tim proposed to Demi on his family’s farm in Jacksonville on Wednesday, 9 January 2019. Things often go awry when a celeb pops the question. But although a botched wedding proposal can still result in a happy marriage, no one is going to refute the memories created by a special engagement, and Tim’s proposal was flawless.  He took Demi for a stroll along the property, leading her to a small lake where he installed an arbour – and a bench that he had made and engraved with the date they first met. After dropping to one knee and Demi saying ‘yes’, Tim slipped a gorgeous 7.25-carat solitaire ring on his bride-to-be’s finger.

Dennis and Laura say ‘I do’

Dennis Quaid married Laura Savoie, who he proposed to in October last year, in a very intimate seaside ceremony in Santa Barbara. The couple were originally meant to have their nuptials in Hawaii in April, with a second reception being planned for family and friends in Nashville. Unfortunately, these plans had to be postponed due to the Covid-19 outbreak.

Instead, with only their pastor to bear witness, Dennis and Laura exchanged vows on 2 June. The couple met at a business event and officially started dating in May 2019. When asked about their speedy engagement, Quaid, who has been married three times previously, simply said, “It was love at first sight.” Laura waxed lyrical about her love for Dennis: “[I’ve] never met someone who is so in love with life. It’s like nothing can bring him down. Just getting to do life with someone who lives that way is inspiring for me. It changes my perspective and it brings so much joy to every day.”

Bindi marries her prince at the zoo

Despite the coronavirus pandemic wreaking havoc in most parts of the world, Bindi Irwin and Chandler Powell decided to go ahead with their nuptials at the Australia Zoo on 25 March – a mere 25 hours before the lockdown was enforced. Although the couple has been planning their big day for nearly a year, all their plans had to be changed as they were not able to have any guests attend their wedding.  While this was undoubtedly a difficult decision, it was of paramount importance to the couple that everyone was kept out of harm’s way.  Bindi, daughter of the late Steve Irwin, got engaged to Florida native Chandler on her 21st birthday in July last year. The couple have been dating for six years. Despite not having a big wedding, Bindi expressed how happy she was to have married her best friend. After the ceremony at the zoo, she said, “Right now we’re encouraging the world to hold onto hope and love, which will carry us forward during this profound time in history.”

Having A Celebrity-Like Wedding

Celebrity weddings indeed add sparkle to the ongoing crisis the world faces today—many couples dream of having celebrity-like weddings, which is possible with careful planning.

Hiring an experienced wedding organizer can make all wedding preparation more convenient, saving time, money, and energy. Doing so can make a wedding more memorable with luxurious venue decorations, international menu options, etc.

As a part of the preparation, couples can take some Zoltan’s wedding dance lessons, couple’s massage, or even boudoir photography, giving a celebrity-like feeling. Wedding couples can dance the tango, waltz, or ballroom dance to showcase their talents and surprise their loved ones on their special day. On the other hand, boudoir photos are a priceless keepsake that the couple will treasure forever, displaying their love and intimacy. These preparations can make any celebrity-like wedding stand out.

In addition, wedding couples should also choose their first dance songs. For instance, Kanye West and Kim Kardashian’s wedding first dance songs include ‘At Last’ (Etta James), ‘Try a Little Tenderness,’ and the love song ‘These Arms of Mine’ by Otis Redding. Another famous first dance song, the ‘Love Never Fails’ by Brandon Heath, is also an excellent choice, like that of Mike Fisher and Carrie Underwood’s wedding.

Despite all the uncertainty currently experienced in the world, love continues to conquer all. When all the madness has subsided, there is bound to be an influx of the big, beautiful celeb weddings we have come to know and love.
