Cheryl Cole has won an undisclosed payout from X Factor USA after she was dropped from the show, according to reports.
The Girls Aloud singer was hired as a judge for the American version of the singing competition in 2011 but was axed soon after getting the job, apparently over fears the audience wouldn’t understand her Newcastle accent.

Fight For This Love singer Cheryl sued producers Blue Orbit for loss of earnings and the case has now reportedly been settled out of court, with the production company paying the star an undisclosed sum.
While it isn’t known how much Cheryl was paid, the star’s initial lawsuit stated that she was owed 1.4 million pounds.
Legal papers in the case reportedly showed that Cheryl had signed up for two series of the show and had a “pay or play” deal, where the salary is payable, even if the star is axed. The 30-year-old said she had been paid for the first series, but the rest of her salary was not forthcoming, and said she was also not paid further expenses, including a 100,000 dollar wardrobe account. .
A source told the Mirror: “It’s been a long fight with a lot of to-ing and fro-ing between both sets of lawyers but it has come as a welcome relief to both parties it is finally over. Cheryl was determined to get what she thought she was owed and the award she has received shows just how right she was. ”
The singer was replaced on the show by Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger, who is now a judge on the UK X Factor.
Cheryl has patched things up with X Factor boss Simon Cowell since she was sacked, and the TV mogul has hinted that he would like to see her back on the UK version of the programme.
