GEORGE MICHAEL DISMISSES REHAB ALLEGATIONS AS ‘RUBBISH’

British pop veteran GEORGE MICHAEL has reached out to fans online to dismiss reports suggesting he is in rehab battling an addiction to crack cocaine, branding the latest allegations “rubbish”.

The Faith hitmaker, who has a history of drug abuse, was initially rumoured to have checked into the Kusnacht Practice treatment facility in Switzerland last month (Jun15), but his representative denied the claims at the time, insisting the singer was simply enjoying an extended vacation in Europe.

Michael hit headlines again on Sunday (12th Jul 2015) after Jackie Georgiou, the wife of the singer’s second cousin Andros, alleged the family had recently visited the star in rehab, telling Britain’s The Sun newspaper that he was a “bewildered, drug-addled wreck” when he checked into the $304,000 (£190,000)-a-month Kusnacht Practice.

She added, “He was so thin, so ill. It’s crack, it’s marijuana, it’s drink, it’s coke. It was pretty dark and things were getting darker. He was going to end up locked up or dead. I’m petrified he will die.”

However, Michael is disputing Georgiou’s story, insisting he is doing well and hasn’t been in contact with the extended family relative in almost two decades.

Tweeting on Twitter to address the allegations after tuning into the Wimbledon men’s tennis finals, he writes, “To my lovelies, do not believe this rubbish in the papers today by someone I don’t know anymore and haven’t seen for nearly 18 years…

“I am perfectly fine and enjoyed Wimbledon like the rest of you. Wish it went to 5 sets though!… Lots of love, The Singing Greek xxx”.
