It doesn’t feel like 12 years since Joe McElderry won the X Factor does it? Well it is!!
Joe posted “12 years!! Thanks for the continued love and support!”
Having entered to appear on The X Factor back in 2009, he won over UK audiences beating Olly Murs with 61% of the vote, to win the accolade on series 6 with his incredible winning performances on the show, from his duet with George Michael to the release of ‘The Climb;’ which landed the top spot.
He has since gone on to win the second series of Popstar to Operastar in 2011 and the first series of The Jump in 2014 besides being in constant demend by fans for touring and gigging across the country.
On the news of his 12th year today fans lapped it up posting online: “Congratulations on being 12 years. Love and I will support you always” and also “What a wonderful time we’ve all had,I’m so sorry I can’t physically support you at the moment,still think you’re the best thing since sliced bread,xxx #bestXFactorwinnerever xxx”
Another fan added “The best 12 years of my life supporting you, can’t wait to see what the next 12 year brings 😍❤️”
Joe has grown up before our eyes and has a big fan base. Highlights include: his Club Tropicana tour, Joe being Joseph in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat besides his generous charity work.

He will next be seen in Freedom, a show that will see him touring the UK singing George Michael hits.
Joe recently told fans he was still as enthusiastic about singing as ever, writing in September: “I’m so lucky to get to do what I do!
“It’s still such a crazy time for our industry and things are nowhere near back to normal but you have filled my heart already and the tour has just began! Thank you ❤️.”
The star often posts selfies from backstage at his performances, showing fans the outfits he’s going to be wearing that night.
