How Leicester Square Premiere Fan Ballots Really Work: Five Recent Events Compared

Exclusive MarkMeets analysis: Our comparison of five Leicester Square premiere and fan-event ballots reveals a crucial deadline for film fans: applications closed 11 to 18 days before the red carpet, with a median of 13 days. Drawing on published ballot information for events held between December 2024 and June 2026, we found that anyone waiting until premiere week would already have missed every draw in our sample.

Key findings

  • Applications closed 11 to 18 days before the event, with a median of 13 days.
  • Every one was a ballot draw, with separate general-access and accessible fan areas.
  • A fan-area pass is for a viewing area only. Warner’s Wuthering Heights terms exclude both the red carpet and the screening, and its F1 ballot page excludes the film.
  • Where listings stated an age limit (Wuthering Heights, F1), applicants had to be 18 or over. The Wuthering Heights pass was non-transferable and tied to photo ID.
  • Warner now calls some events “fan events” rather than premieres, so a search for “premiere” alone can miss them.

Closing times are as published by the organiser. “Days before” counts whole days from ballot close to the red carpet.

What the numbers show

The draw closes about two weeks out. Across the five ballots, applications shut at 23:59 and the red carpet followed 11 to 18 days later. At Wuthering Heights, Warner emailed results on 26 or 27 January, leaving nine to ten days before the 5 February premiere.

Entering early does not improve your odds. Warner’s listings for Supergirl and One Battle After Another say winners are drawn at random, so only the closing time matters.

A pass is for a viewing area, not the film. The Wuthering Heights terms say the pass covers the fan area only, not the red carpet itself or the screening. Warner’s F1 ballot page says the same about the venue and the film.

The rules are strict. Wuthering Heights applicants had to be 18 or over, UK residents, and able to show photo ID matching the application name. Names could not be changed and passes could not be transferred. The terms also say the promoter could not guarantee how many winners there would be.

The accessible area has its own ballot. Wuthering Heights asked for a Nimbus ID, and F1 asked for a Warner Bros UK Events registration number or Access Card number.

The label is changing. Warner called Superman’s 2 July 2025 event and Supergirl’s 18 June 2026 event “fan events”, while Wuthering Heights was billed as a “UK Premiere”. Searching only for “premiere” can miss the ballot.

These five events used ballots. For The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies in 2014, Warner offered first-come wristbands from noon the day before the premiere. The five events compared here used a ballot instead. This does not establish that every Leicester Square event follows the same system.

You can watch the red carpet without a pass

Studios increasingly stream the arrivals, so a ballot pass is not the only way to see the cast. Disney+ livestreamed the Toy Story 5 UK red carpet for UK subscribers on Thursday 28 May 2026. Warner’s One Battle After Another page carried a red carpet livestream heading, and its closed Wuthering Heights and F1 ballot pages point fans worldwide to a live stream on the @WarnerBrosUK TikTok account.

A livestream shows the arrivals through the broadcaster’s cameras. It replaces neither a fan-area pass nor a screening ticket, but it costs nothing to check the studio’s page for one.

Mark Boardman: my experience at these five events

I attended all five events featured in this comparison: The War of the Rohirrim on 3 December 2024, F1 The Movie on 23 June 2025, One Battle After Another on 16 September 2025, Wuthering Heights on 5 February 2026 and Supergirl on 18 June 2026.

“What stays with me is the excitement of the crowd as the stars arrived. Seeing them in person gave each occasion a real sense of scale, and the fans’ enthusiasm was a memorable part of the atmosphere.”Mark Boardman, recalling the five events listed above

These were big occasions, but the published access rules are a separate matter from my recollections of attending. The comparison above sets out the ballot deadlines and pass restrictions so readers can understand what they were applying for.

What fans should do

Treat the ballot as the deadline that matters, because the draw closes about two weeks before the event.

  1. Search for “fan event” and “fan area ballot” as well as “premiere”, and check the studio’s UK news page.
  2. Enter before the closing time rather than waiting for the week of the event. Early entry won’t improve your odds, but a late one gets you nothing.
  3. Use the name on your photo ID. At Wuthering Heights, names could not be changed after applying.
  4. Check your junk folder. Warner told Wuthering Heights applicants that results were emailed on 26 or 27 January.
  5. Hold off on non-refundable travel until you have a pass. The terms say travel and accommodation are not covered, and winner numbers were not guaranteed.
  6. If you need step-free viewing, apply to the accessible ballot and have your Nimbus ID or Access Card number ready.
  7. Remember the pass is for the fan area only. It does not include a seat for the film.

Frequently asked questions

When do Leicester Square fan ballots close? In the five we compared, 11 to 18 days before the red carpet, always at 23:59. Check the closing time on each listing.

Does a fan pass let me watch the film? No. The Wuthering Heights terms and the F1 ballot page both say the pass does not include the screening or the venue.

Can I give my pass to a friend? Not at Wuthering Heights, where passes were non-transferable. Each winner could bring one optional guest.

What do I need for the accessible fan area? Wuthering Heights required a Nimbus ID. F1 required a Warner Bros UK Events registration number or an Access Card number.

How we compiled this

We compared five Warner Bros. ballots for Leicester Square events between December 2024 and June 2026, taking dates, closing times and pass rules from the organiser’s own ballot pages and terms. We read the full Wuthering Heights fan-area terms.

We left out the House of the Dragon season 3 ballot (8 June 2026). We found only fan-site reports of it, and they disagreed on the closing time (23:59 in one, 5pm in another), so we could not confirm either.

The sample has limits. All five events are from one studio, so other distributors may run ballots differently. Only Wuthering Heights published when applicants would hear back, and Warner replaces its ballot forms with a “closed” notice after the draw.

Last updated 2 November 2026. We add new ballots as they are announced. To report a correction, email Mark@MarkMeets.com.
