Olly Murs honours friend Robbie Williams with music video inspired by his hit Angels

The former X Factor finalist is planning to emulate his idol in the promo and isn’t letting anything get in his way

Having supported Robbie on his European tour earlier this year – when they bonded over the Fifa video game – Olly is now paying homage by dedicating his music video for new single Hand on Heart to him.

29 year old Olly is planning on re-creating Rob’s iconic vid for Angels – his biggest-selling single – 16 years after it was filmed.

Olly is so serious about the project that he has even hired original Angels director Vaughan Arnell to convincingly imitate the four-minute black-and-white flick. As if that wasn’t enough, Robbie himself has agreed to make a cameo appearance.

In his version, Olly will act out famous scenes of Robbie looking pensive in front of a skyscraper, passionately snogging a girl and displaying his football skills on a deserted beach.

The only bit Olly will have a problem with is when Rob, now 39, sped along the sand on a motorbike… because Ols can’t ride one. Bless. I’m told by an insider: “Olly is really psyched about doing the video. He just doesn’t know how to ride a motorcycle.

“Therefore he’s using a stunt double for that so he doesn’t end up with an injury.

“Shooting will start next week in London, before the team find a suitable beach to use. They want to keep the location under wraps though, as it’s vital no one else is there for the scene to be effective.”

Angels has been close to Olly’s heart since he performed it on stage with Robbie during The X Factor finals back in 2009.

Little did he know back then that they’d get so close they would end up texting each other football scores.

Essex lad Olly will release the mega-catchy Hand on Heart on November 24.

He recently gushed about Robbie: “I’ve learned so much just being in his company about his staging, his charisma, his personality.”
