Tinie Tempah inspired by Jay Z

The ‘Pass Out’ hitmaker admits the 43-year-old rapper has been his role model since he was a youngster because he has set a good example for people of the younger generation, and has made business-savvy decisions, which has helped him achieve the high volume of success.

Tinie said: ”He has led by example through his art form.

”He’s worked hard, been smart and made really good business decisions. So if you have aspirations as a young black guy to be an artist, a musician and an entrepreneur, and who knows, maybe one day work with tech companies and app companies and drinks brands and all of that, there is someone who has shown people like me that we can do that.

”And I want to try to be that guy for my generation.”

The 24-year-old musician is convinced success is built on how well an artist can adapt themselves to keep up with the ever-changing music scene.

He explained: ”Three years ago I was sitting in south London not knowing what the hell was going to happen to me. But you have to adapt fast or you won’t survive.”
