What Mark-Paul Gosselaar Has Worked On Since Saved By The Bell
Mark-Paul Gosselaar is an actor best known for his role as Zack Morris on the popular television show “Saved by the Bell,” which aired in the late 1980s and early 1990s. He has also had a successful career in television and film, appearing in shows such as “NYPD Blue,” “Franklin & Bash,” and “Pitch,” as well as movies such as “Dead Man on Campus” and “The Storm.” Gosselaar has been acting since he was a child and has remained a popular and successful actor throughout his career.
Mark-Paul Gosselaar continues to star in TV shows as both leads and guest appearances since his days as Zack Morris in the original Saved By The Bell.
Although he is known by most as the fourth-wall-breaking Zack Morris of Bayside High School, Mark-Paul Gosselaar has had many other roles under his belt since the finale of the original Saved By The Bell. While he never became a movie star, Mark-Paul Gosselaar maintained relevancy by guest starring in television dramas from 1994 to 2001 until being cast in more permanent TV parts. Since then, he has mostly upheld his career on the silver screen.
Before landing a recurring role on the popular police procedural television series NYPD Blue, Mark-Paul Gosselaar appeared in a few TV movies and proceeding spin-offs of Saved By The Bell – Saved By The Bell: The College Years and Saved By The Bell: The New Class. Gosselaar went on to star as the lead in two separate television series. This is a trend that continues for Gosselaar even today.
Mark-Paul Gosselaar’s Biggest TV Roles Since Saved By The Bell
Mark-Paul Gosselaar’s recurring role as Detective John Clark, Jr. on NYPD Blue lasted for five years before working for a year on Commander in Chief, a television series following the first female President of the United States. Gosselaar went on to land his first lead role as lawyer Jerry Kellerman in TNT’s Raising The Bar. His pattern of starring in lawyer dramas would continue to Gosselaar’s biggest role since Saved By The Bell as Peter Bash in the TNT drama Franklin & Bash. Mark-Paul Gosselaar would stay as co-leads alongside Brecken Meyer for four years, before eventually returning to the role of Zack Morris in 2020’s Saved By The Bell.
Why Mark-Paul Gosselaar’s Role In Saved By The Bell’s Reboot Was So Small
Peacock’s Saved By The Bell revival brought along many returning characters, but one of the most interesting was Mark-Paul Gosselaar’s return as Zack Morris. Morris is now the father of Mac Morris, his son with Tiffani Theissen’s Kelly Kapowski, and the Governor of California who only appears in a few episodes. His lack of screen time is explained in the show by his busy schedule as a governor. In actuality, the decision was due to Gosselaar’s busy acting schedule, as he was working on Fox’s The Passage and ABC’s Mixed-Ish at the same time.
Mark-Paul Gosselaar recently made a small appearance in HBO’s Barry. His relationship with NBC continues also continues, despite Peacock’s Saved By The Bell being canceled, as Gosselaar plays a role in the upcoming NBC series Found. As he has done since the end of the original series, Mark-Paul Gosselaar continues to stay busy in show business today.
