British actress Sienna Miller’s hairstylist Luke Hersheson thinks the actress was brave for cutting her hair off.
Sienna Miller had always planned to go for the chop when it came to her hair.
The star has been working with super hairstylist Luke Hersheson for the past eight years, and the pro was responsible for her chic bob haircut in 2014. Sienna has since grown it out slightly, but her blonde hair still remains far shorter than the long tresses she used to sport.
“She was always quite a long-hair girl because she was such an icon for the whole boho thing, so it was massive deal to her to cut it; it was brave,” Luke praised her to Britain’s Grazia magazine. “But it was always the plan to cut it off at some point; to find the right moment and the right thing. You always need to change your trademark. It keeps you fresh and a trendsetter, when you’re prepared to let go of what people think of as your ‘thing’.”
Since returning to the limelight in 2014 with Oscar-winning film America Sniper and Oscar-nominated movie Foxcatcher, Sienna has been more in demand than ever. As well as shooting new projects, Sienna has also been a red carpet regular since making her acting comeback.
“Above anything else, if you change your hair and it’s successful it really makes a statement,” Luke smiled.
Talking to Vogue about the short hairdo previously, Luke revealed the look they were going for was “tough but sexy”. He’d originally intended for Sienna to go even shorter, looking towards Winona Ryder’s boyish ’90s hair as inspiration.
“In the end we opted for a ‘bad’ (but good bad!) bob with an undercut at the back and sides which feels super-cool when her hair is up in a bun – a little on the rebellious side,” he told the publication.
