INTRODUCING ALT-POP SINGER HARPER AND HER DEBUT TRACK ‘ISLAND’

‘Island’ is a glimpse into what Harper has to offer. Stirring string sections assist Harpers compelling voice that demands ears whilst soaring over a twisted, hazy beat.

With a predominantly pop sound it is undeniable that Harper has been influenced by a more alternative tone, the likes of Thom YorkeSia and Bjork have played a part in her personal music history yet the singer always had a penchant for anything that was catchy or upbeat. This is music for a potential pop junkie with a dark edge.

Harper is Sam Harper, born in Bristol, brought up mostly in Wales and now residing in East London after making the big move to study at Westminster Uni.  Her first musical memory was singing along to No Limits by 2Unlimited, the discovery of her own voice and the ingrained mental image of doing nothing but singing as a career.

‘The Velvet EP’ was produced by songwriting and production team, Eagleye, who have worked with Little Mix, Laurel, Pixie Lott and Conor Maynard, to name a few. Being a new artist, Harper spent most of last year immersing herself into writing, recording and creating something that she could call her own and be proud of.

With four tracks that showcase a diverse canvas of music that has influenced Harper from folk and pop through to dubstep and rock, Harper has embraced all of her musical tastes and embodied what she is about, introducing listeners to her pop-loving, dark and alternative sound via this stunning debut.
