Just Giving team up with Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park to raise money for artists chosen charities 18th –28th June
Between June 18th and June 28th Hyde Park will see headline performances from The Strokes, Blur, Kylie Minogue, The Who, Taylor Swift and the UK’s Biggest Family Event and through a partnership with social giving platform, JustGiving, fans can combine seeing their favorite artists with raising money for great causes.
For 2015 Barclaycard Presents British Summer Time Hyde Park will be supporting three separate areas of charity activity.
Firstly, the 2015 shows will be supporting a broad coalition of organisations that are fighting cancer in the UK including Breast Cancer Now, Prostate Cancer UK, Teenage Cancer Trust and The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.
“I’m delighted that BST Hyde Park have chosen such a fantastic coalition of cancer charities to support this year. It means a lot to me that these organisations are being highlighted and that the funds raised will enable them to continue their vital work” – Kylie Minogue
“We all know that without teenagers, without their energy and their passion for music, we wouldn’t have rock and roll as we know it. Thanks for supporting Teenage Cancer Trust” – Roger Daltrey CBE
To celebrate and support the tireless work that these organisations undertake Barclaycard Presents British Summer Time Hyde Park has committed to deliver a limited number of tickets across all this year’s shows.
“We are so excited to be one of the chosen charities for this year’s British Summer Time Hyde Park. An astonishing one in eight guys will get prostate cancer in their lifetime and the stats for black men are even higher with one in four at risk.
“In many cases prostate cancer is treatable if it’s caught early enough which is why awareness is so essential. We take our hats off to guys like Nile Rodgers, who share their experiences of the disease to help others. This summer we’re calling on guys everywhere to sign up to our movement for men, Men United, and do something to help beat prostate cancer. Whether it’s buying a ticket to a gig a like this, or taking on a sporting challenge – in one way or another it will help us beat this disease, which kills over 10,000 men in the UK every year. A massive thanks goes to Nile and the team at British Summer Time for their support.”
