Corrie newbie Shayne Ward has admitted to being on dating app Tinder.

So the former X factor star had made his first made a profile on the popular dating app as part of a bet but has now revealed he’s taking his search for a potential lover seriously and says it’s been ”fun”.

The 30-year-old star admitted ”Yes I’m on Tinder, it is not a fake account.

”What it is, I was having a bet with my management that I would go on it. So initially I set it up as a joke. I thought I’d give it a go yeah … It’s quite fun.”

Shayne who made his TV debut on ‘Coronation Street’ last month: hasn’t been linked to anyone since his 10-year relationship with actress Faye McKeever came to an in 2014, not long after the couple got engaged.

And despite having a multi-platinum selling album under his belt and being a former ‘X Factor’ winner, he hasn’t bagged a date through the public dating app – yet – because women don’t believe it’s him.

The TV hunk told the Daily Star: ”I’ve not been on any dates yet as I’m only two weeks into it. I have had quite a few matches on it though. People don’t think it is me when I’m talking to them. They think I am catfishing them.”
