Star Wars at Madame Tussauds review

A new £2.5 million Star Wars Universe has opened at Madame Tussauds and we were invited along to visi the exhibit which features 16 statues in 11 different sets

We loved the Throne Room and even had a go at flying the Millennium Falcon!

Which celebs are you currently working on?

At the moment our sculptors are working on wax figures of Kim Kardashian and Zoella and Alfie the YouTubers which will be launching later this year.

How do you decide who is next?

Our choice of figures reflects those celebrities our visitors want to see, based on regular polls and feedback; together with extensive monitoring and research by our global and local teams looking at news events and other indicators of who’s ‘in’ both internationally, and in those markets where we have an attraction

Who is the most popular one?

We have many popular figures but one of the most photographed is The Queen.

Why Zayn is still part of the 1D display?

Our One Direction figures are celebrating a point in time so we would not split them up. Madame Tussauds is now the only place where fans can see them together again.

Do they still measure people by hand or do they use 3D scanning tools?

Yes, the team still take hundreds of measurements of people when the celebrity’s diary allows for a sitting. If a sitting is not possible then the figure is sculpted using the help of reference images.
