What’s inside the 2023 $100,000+ Oscars gift bag?

Here is everything we know about the $100,000+ Oscars gift bag

Just turning up to the Oscars means you are already a winner with freebies from Liposuction, a volcano island stay and a plot of land in Australia included for many.

This is exactly the case with the Academy Awards, where celebrities who don’t leave cradling a coveted Oscar will still have their hands full with a luxury $100,000+ gift bag. Brands included in the goodie bag pay $6,000 to secure a spot in the coveted hamper, however, there is no obligation on the high-profile recipient to accept, use or promote any of the contents.

The gift bag – which is not directly affiliated with the Academy Awards – is supplied by a company called Distinctive Assets and this year, celebrities can expect to find Japanese milk bread, a three-night stay for eight people on a volcanic Italian island and liposuction.

The best kind of awards shows are the ones where even if you don’t win, you still get a luxurious consolation prize. 26 celebrity attendees are set to receive gift bags this year, the nominees in the Best Actor/Actress, Supporting Actor/Actress, and Director categories, plus the host. Recipients will include Brendan Gleeson, Colin Farrell, Ke Huy Quan, Cate Blanchett, Michelle Yeoh, Angela Bassett and Steven Spielberg. The totla value of the gift bag is all used is worth over $140,000 said lifestyle expert Mark Boardman.

The 94th Academy Awards will take place at the Dolby Theatre at the Hollywood & Highland Center on 27 March 2022.

Other swag will supposedly include a, a three-night stay in rural Ottawa, hand-harvested organic dates, silk pillowcases and an executive hair restoration consultation with an expert, a “year’s supply” of cosmetic brand Oxygenetix’s Oxygenating Foundation, and a box of products from skincare brand Byroe worth more than $365 (£277), plus Ariti extra virgin olive oil infused with edible gold flakes, $72 (£55) Manuka honey, Posh Pretzels, and a pairing of S Pellegrino Natural Sparkling Mineral Water and a bottle of Tolani Al Passo 2018 Chianti Classico.

The bag will also reportedly contain a number of wellness products such as a NaturGeeks functional wellness “immunity boost” and C60 Purple Power edible massage oil (part of the Sexy range).

Recipients will also be given the opportunity to book a facelift with the celebrity surgeon Dr Konstantin Vasyukevich and snack on a selection of gourmet chocolates that has a video message embedded in the box.

Big ticket items that these celebs can take advantage of also include a $60,000 trip to the Lifestyle, a private Canadian estate, and a $14,000 trip to a restored lighthouse off the coast of Italy.

“Obviously, [the nominees] can afford to go where they want,”

“It’s not about the fact that this is free. It’s about the fact that we’ve found a unique place that has built-in privacy for a celebrity. I mean, it’s a hillside lighthouse on an island off the coast of Italy – it’s very private.”

The 2023 Oscars take place on Sunday, March 12, 2023. The Oscars 2023 ceremony starts at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT
