Daddy’s Home star Will Ferrell demands more award show recognition for comedy acting: ‘We make it look too easy’
Will said comedy acting is harder than it looks, and doesn’t receive the awards show recognition it deserves.
He said: “I think comedians are used to not being recognised for the most part, but I appreciate the Golden Globes has a comedy category.
“It feels like award shows should expand their critiquing and realise that doing comedy is difficult. Ask any dramatic actor and they’ll tell you how hard it is.
“I guess if we make it look too easy, it doesn’t get recognised.”
The film stars Will, 48, as a mild-mannered radio executive called Brad who is trying to earn the affection of his stepchildren.
Complicating matters, their real father Dusty (Mark Wahlberg) arrives, forcing him to compete for their love.
It is the second time the pair have starred together. They played New York cops Allen Gamble and Terry Hoitz in 2010 action comedy The Other Guys.
On working together, Mark, 44, said: “We have a similar work ethic, we’re both producers as well, and we want to ensure everyone enjoys the movie.
“It’s really unfair for them to pay us so much for having so much fun.”

The American actor said he is confident the film will appeal to the British sense of humour.
“We’ve had great success with the comedies that we’ve done here with The Other Guys, Date Night and Ted especially,” Mark said.
“They’ve got a good sense of humour and I think they’re going to really enjoy this movie.”
Daddy’s Home will be released on December 26.
