Industry sources told MarkMeets on Monday that presales for tickets for the motion picture are tracking toward a domestic opening of at least $150 million. Fandango has reported that the film has the highest presales of 2022, and is outpacing presales for hit films such as 2019’s Captain Marvel, 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok, and 2017’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, according to the outlet.

Disney EVP Theatrical Distribution Tony Chambers said at last week’s CinemaCon in Las Vegas that presale totals had already surpassed the $42 million mark, Deadline reported.

The film is slated to arrive in theaters May 6.
