Idris Elba Takes Pics With Fans at ‘Beast’ UK Premiere In Hackney

Idris Elba is all about his fans!

The 49-year-old actor headed straight to the waiting fans at the premiere of his movie, Beast, held at Hackney Picturehouse on Wednesday (August 24) in London, where he took a lot of selfies with those waiting for the event.

Idris Elba proud to bring blockbuster Beast ‘back to the borough’ for premiere saying it “felt special” to bring the premiere of Beast to the borough where he grew up – saying he has gone “from Hackney to Hollywood.

British rapper Stormzy showed his support for the actor at the premiereIn Beast, Idris plays a father who is forced to protect his two teenage daughters after they find themselves being hunted by a massive rogue lion.

Elba returned to South Africa to shoot the blockbuster, having filmed drama Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom in the country in 2013.

“I love the country. I love that part of the world. I have a very special love for it.”

Iyana Halley, who plays his daughter in the film, recently opened up about working with him.

“Working with Idris was seriously a dream come true,” she shared with Haute Living. “There were so many things I loved about working with him, but I must say that I truly admired his kindness, patience, and humble manner.”

Elba said: “Not too far from here, I was raised on Dalston high street. I would never imagine that one day I would bring a film that I am in and helped make back to the borough. It feels very special. I’m proud of it.

“From Hackney to Hollywood.”

Beast, UK premiere was held at Hackney Picturehouse, London on Wednesday 24th August 2022. Cast including Idris Elba, Will Packer, And Baltasar Kormakur attended, alongside guests Stormzy, Joseph Garratt was also in attendance, as was Lisa Maffia, Pete Tong and Carolina Acosta.

Beast hits UK theaters on Friday, August 26.
