VAPING: A COMMON ART IN TV AND MOVIES

Smoking, among many other arts, is becoming more popular in TV series and movies; largely as a result of the sophistication the directors are trying to portray. This art is not new in Hollywood as actors have been seen to smoke on-screen since the 1950s. Today, we see Hollywood actors smoke more e-cigs (otherwise known as vapes) than traditional cigarettes.

In the 1950s, actors were seen smoking traditional cigarettes in several movie scenes such as some businessmen strategizing on their next business campaign. Smoking was used to spice up the scene by highlighting the perceived sophistication of a character. However, as time went on, regulations limiting the use of tobacco introduced by the government made smoking freely in TV series and movies more difficult.

Today, actors tend to vape more than they smoke traditional cigarettes if the scene demands it. Hence, the art of vaping has become more common across the entertainment industry in countries like the US, France, Malaysia, and the UK, etc. This serves as another avenue for real-world vapers to feel connected to the actors in the movie or TV series.

One of the episodes showed the 2 girls see a group of vapers light up their vape devices as they came into the diner. The diner owner was furious with that act, however, one of the waitresses happened to be a vaper too. This TV series showed its actors using sophisticated vape devices instead of common or regular ones.

He had to hold an e-cig in almost all the significant scenes in the movie. However, Drive Hard is not the only movie where John Cusack is seen vaping. Other John Cusack movies where he was seen holding a vape device are; Map to the Stars and Reclaim.
