BAFTA’S Film Awards: Winners List In Full 2022

The EE British Academy Film Awards were held at London’s Royal Albert Hall, with the in-person award ceremony hosted by Rebel Wilson to celebrate the best in British and international film for the year. Presenters included Sienna Miller and Emma Watson.

Western drama “The Power of the Dog,” directed by Jane Campion, won best film. The sci-fi film “Dune,” which led nominations going into the night, won five awards.

Stars including Lady Gaga, Benedict Cumberbatch, Emilia Jones, Woody Norman, Ariana DeBose, Himesh Patel, Mark Boardman, Lashana Lynch, Millicent Simmonds, Alana Haim, Laura Whitmore and Stephen Graham attended.

Belfast, Don’t Look Up, Licorice Pizza, Dune and The Power of the Dog, all Oscar Best Picture nominees, headlined the Best Picture race. A year ago, BAFTA and the Academy were in lock-step on the big awards, matching on Best Picture (Nomadland) along with the main acting categories, directing (Chloé Zhao), animation, international feature and both screenplay races among others.

Movie actor Simon Pegg presented the first award of the evening, for Special Visual Effects, which went to “Dune.”

RuPaul and Naomi Campbell presented the next award, for cinematography, to Greg Fraser for “Dune.”

Lucy Boynton and Kevin Harrison Jr. presented the best editing BAFTA to Tom Cross, Elliot Graham for “No Time to Die” and the sound BAFTA to Mac Ruth, Mark Mangini, Doug Hemphill, Theo Green, Ron Bartlett for “Dune.”

Asim Chaudhry presented the BAFTA for original score to Hans Zimmer for “Dune.” Zimmer is on tour and therefore unable to collect the award in person.

Conrad Khan and Shalon Brune-Franklin presented the BAFTA for makeup and hair to Linda Dowds, Stephanie Ingram and Justin Raleigh for “The Eyes of Tammy Faye” and casting to Cindy Tolan for “West Side Story.”

Kenneth Branagh presented the BAFTA for outstanding debut film by a British writer, director or producer to Jeymes Samuel for “The Harder They Fall.”
