The New Batman Robert Pattinson’s Best Movies
Robert Pattinson began his film career playing Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, but his breakout role came with the Twilight series of movies. Since then, he has escaped being typecast as a fantasy-actor and has appeared in many excellent films, including dramas, comedies, and indie pictures. But his newest film looks set to catapult the 34-year-old actor to superstardom. Yes, as you probably know by now, Pattinson is taking on the lead role in The Batman, which is currently scheduled to hit cinemas in March 2022 (Excusive date). The story of the much-anticipated new Caped Crusader film is top secret, but we do know that Catwoman, The Penguin, and The Riddler are back.
As we wait for the new Batman flick to come out, there is no better time to check out some of Robert Pattinson’s other films. Here are what we consider to be his top four.
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2
Let’s get Robert Pattinson’s most well-known movie franchise out of the way first. Pattinson’s breakthrough role was as the vampire Edward Cullen in the Twilight films, based on the hugely successful series of Young Adult books by Stephanie Meyer. The series had its highs and lows, but the 2012 film Breaking Dawn – Part 2 was something else. The fifth and final instalment of the Twilight Saga received much critical acclaim, and it was the highest-grossing movie of the series. Even if lots of oldies did not take to the Twilight films, they were undoubtedly a hit with young adults, and no one can claim Pattinson did not put in a first-class performance.
If you are a fan of the Twilight books and movies, you are sure to love playing the Vampires slot game, which utilizes classic slot gameplay along with a free-spins bonus, on a five-reel matrix that has five fixed pay lines.
High Life
Winner of the FIPRESCI Award at the 2018 San Sebastián International Film Festival, High Life is a science fiction film about a group of criminals on a spaceship. They are on a mission to travel towards a black hole while participating in scientific experiments. What makes this film so superb is the scientific-detail. The filmmakers actually hired a physicist and black hole expert as a consultant. The models are also exceptional, thanks to the Danish-Icelandic artist Olafur Eliasson who designed the spacecraft.
Pattinson’s performance in the lead role of Monte is fabulous, and he has an excellent supporting cast to bounce off, such as Juliette Binoche, André Benjamin, and Mia Goth.
Good Time
This 2017 crime thriller stars Robert Pattinson as a bank robber who is desperately trying to raise enough money to pay for bail for his disabled brother. It received a considerable amount of critical praise upon release, and it was nominated for the Palme d’Or at Cannes.
Even if Pattinson had not played the low-level criminal in this picture, it is sure to have still been magnificent. But at the same time, Pattinson’s fantastic performance elevates Good Time to another level. The story of this tense drama begins with Pattinson’s character Nikas forcibly removing his developmentally disabled brother Nick from his therapy session before they rob a bank for $65,000. They are about to escape when a dye-pack in the money bag explodes, causing the car to crash and the twosome to be covered in ink. From there on, Good Time is a rollercoaster ride of action and emotion.
Cosmopolis
Pattinson’s performance in director David Cronenberg’s Cosmopolis is spellbinding. The actor won the award for Best Actor in a Canadian Film at the 2013 Vancouver Film Critics Circle, and the film was nominated for the Palme d’Or at Cannes. The plot of the movie sees Pattinson’s character riding around New York City in a limousine as he becomes more and more submerged in absurdism that matches the director’s anti-establishment intentions. Like the novella by Don DeLillo that the film is based on, Cosmopolis is a savage take on American affluence. Much of the film’s appeal comes from Pattinson’s utter commitment to the role of his complex protagonist.
If you are looking for something a little different and want to see Robert Pattinson performing at his best, you should definitely check out this gem of a movie.
