May we have your attention, please? The Queen is set to return to her throne. Yes, it seems that Beyoncé Knowles-Carter will be releasing her first solo project since her critically acclaimed album, Lemonade. This new project will be Beyoncé’s seventh solo album and has already taken the Internet by storm.
Recently, Internet detectives discovered that photos from Bey’s social media accounts had been wiped clean. Fans surmised that the “Formation” singer was prepping her long-awaited seventh album.
The greatest albums by Black musicians and in the bottom right corner, there is one album cover of a hand (that looks suspiciously like Beyoncé’s) holding up a seven.
Well, it turns out fans were right. Queen B is in fact gracing us with new music soon. Here’s everything we know on B7 so far.
What is the album’s title?
TIDAL announced on Thursday that the new project will be titled Renaissance and what we are set to receive is “act i.” Unbeknownst to fans, the global superstar had actually teased the name of this album while speaking to Harper’s Bazaar back in August.
“With all the isolation and injustice over the past year, I think we are all ready to escape, travel, love, and laugh again. I feel a renaissance emerging, and I want to be part of nurturing that escape in any way possible,” she said at the time, before stating that she had been in the studio for “a year and a half” and leaving us with all of the reassurance we needed, “Yes, the music is coming!”
What will Renaissance sound like?
In a new British Vogue cover story, Edward Enninful describes listening to the album with Beyonce. “Instantly, a wall of sound hits me. Soaring vocals and fierce beats combine and in a split second I’m transported back to the clubs of my youth. I want to get up and start throwing moves. It’s music I love to my core.”
Enninful continues: [the] “music that makes you rise, that turns your mind to cultures and subcultures, to our people past and present, music that will unite so many on the dance floor, music that touches your soul.” Edward adds, “As ever with Beyoncé, it is all about the intent.”
When can we expect it?
Lucky for all of us, pretty soon. The date to look out for is July 29.

What can we expect?
Beyoncé’s newest album, “will feature both dance and country-leaning tracks.” We can also expect to see contributions from hit songwriter Ryan Tedder, who was behind “Halo” and a number of other hit tracks by major artists including Adele. We can also expect Raphael Saadiq, who has worked with John Legend, Mary J. Blige Stevie Wonder and more, to be involved.
In terms of the format, however… we have a lot of questions. Will it be a visual album? Will there be features? The truth is, we have no idea. As we know, the megastar is notorious for staying tight-lipped in regards to her projects. But, based on the fact that this new project appears to be “act i,” that begs the question: can we expect to also see an “act ii” or even “act iii?” I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
