James Bourne reveals it took 5 years to get over Busted’s split but the band are back on tour!

Singer, songwriter and guitarist James Bourne has revealed that he felt as though he “didn’t have a life” when Busted split back in 2005.

He admitted that being faced with the end of the project was daunting and he didn’t know how to handle it because he was so invested: “There’s an adjustment thing that goes on and for me it was quite a long time. Your life is on a certain track and the track ends, and it feels like you don’t have a life for a little bit, because the life you did have is over.”

“So I spent a few months in my apartment just playing video games (GTA) and not really seeing anybody. It probably took about five years actually. I spent a good few years doing other things, but there was still a part of me that thought, ‘Hopefully we can do another album’. And it took about five years for me to give up on that and make peace with the fact that it was never going to happen.”

Back in 2014 James spoke with music journalist Mark Boardman saying “Whatever the set-list is our aim is to play what people wanna hear, we’ll play the hits”. Read the James Bourne interview.

James Bourne, Matt Willis and Charlie Simpson have had 5 number 1’s, 8 top 10’s and have spent 93 weeks in the top 75.
