Pop queen Madonna may not have reached the coveted No. 1 spot with her latest album, but she has managed to have the best-selling new entry of the week.

Madge’s ‘Rebel Heart’ was beaten to No. 1 by Sam Smith’s ‘In The Lonely Hour’ with 12,000 copies separating the two chart positions.
Sam Smith who scored both the UK chart double with No. 1 album and single finished this week at the top of both the album and single charts.
‘Lay Me Down’ by Sam Smith and John Legend sold 105,00 copies with proceeds from the collaborative track have gone towards funds for Comic Relief.
‘Rebel Heart’ is Madonna’s thirteenth studio album and has suffered numerous illegal leaks ahead of its official release date.
Behind Sam Smith and Madonna in this week’s Top Five are Ed Sheeran with ‘X’, a non-mover, at No. 3, ‘Chasing Yesterday’ by Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds down three to No. 4, and George Ezra’s ‘Wanted On Voyage’ down one to No. 5.
Other new entries to the UK album chart come from Rebecca Ferguson at No. 7 with ‘Lady Sings The Blues’ and ‘Colours’ by Blue at No. 13.
