When is Rick Astley new remastered album being released?

Rick Astley first appeared on the music scene with his debut hit ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’ back in 1987, and since then he’s had many Top 10 hits, including ‘Whenever You Need Somebody’, ‘When I Fall in Love’, and ‘Together Forever’.

Now, the singer who left the limeight for many years, is still touring 35 years later, has confirmed to MarkMeets.com that he will be releasing a remastered version of his debut Number 1 album, ‘Whenever You Need Somebody and he hopes fans can enjoy his songs in better audio than the original recordings.

From 1994 to 2000, Astley retired from music to focus on spending time with his wife and raising their daughter. He returned to the music industry in 2000, and released the single “Sleeping” and the album Keep It Turned On in 2001. Four years later, Astley released his covers album Portrait

The album, which has already been remastered once, back in 2010, will include the original 10 tracks. There will also be a remastered deluxe edition featuring two discs, with a total of 17 songs on the first disc, including some reimagined versions, with 14 mixes of this songs on the second.

Both versions of the album are available to pre-order and will be released on 6th May 2022.

To celebrate this announcement, Rick has also released a remastered version of the music video for his song’ Together Forever’ in 4K. Comparing the original with the remastered version Rick wrote on Instagram: ‘To celebrate the announcement of the Whenever You Need Somebody remastered edition, the video for Together Forever has been lovingly restored from the original film and is now available in 4K!

‘After 35 years, I’m excited to release a remastered edition of my debut album ‘Whenever You Need Somebody’. It’s out on May 6th.

“Whenever I sing these songs or even hear them on the radio, it brings back so many great memories,” says Rick. It makes me appreciate how lucky I was to have met all the people I worked with around making that first record.

Never Gonna Give You Up was big enough to let me travel the world – which, for a 21-year-old from Newton-le-Willows, was mind-blowing. I’m still reaping the benefits from that today.”

The project was remastered at Abbey Road by Frank Arkwright.

‘Whenever You Need Somebody’ is available on single and double CD on May 6
