Channel 5′s new over Viacom is set to keep Big Brother on air after 2014.
The current Big Brother contract expires this year after the upcoming summer series.
Viacom is keen to “secure” Channel 5′s current hit shows including Big Brother and Celebrity Big Brother.
The purchase of Channel 5 for circa £450m by Viacom could also see more reality telly on Channel 5 with Viacom’s other programmes including the likes of Geordie Shore and The Valleys for MTV as well as Jersey Shore on US telly.
However there have been rumours that ITV2 are interested in buying Big Brother and even talk that Channel 4 may want it back.
As well as the ‘normal’ series of Big Brother this summer will be the sixteenth series of Celebrity Big Brother, with names including Helen Flanagan and White Dee tipped to be housemates.
Auditions for Big Brother 2014 took place earlier this year, being completed online only for the first time in the show’s history.
Rylan and Emma return to present the new series this June.
