The Britain’s Got Talent 2014 auditions continue tonight on ITV1 and here are the spoilers you need to know!
We start this evening’s show with something completely different… puppet Patsy May! Patsy was born in England but now lives in Upstate New York. She works as a part-time singer and actress.
Patsy invites and Ant and Dec on stage and performs a rendition of ‘Dream a Little Dream’ for the judges, leaving Simon to quip: “I kind of see you in Amanda’s chair next year.”
Next up is another dance act with a twist, burlesque dancers Crazy Rouge who perform to Feeling Good by former BGT stars Escala.
David says: “Oh there’s something for everyone on this show.”
And proving just that, the third act of the night is something completely different once again as we meet Christian Farla, a 44 year old professional magician and illusionist from Holland (yes, he’s not British!), but can he win over the always hard to impress Simon with a magical illusion?
It’s not long however before the singers take to the stage, with girl group Reaformed one of the first to go before the panel.
The trio – made up of Renetta (18), Ebony (15) and Alexis (21) – have been together for three months and win over Alesha with their Kiki Dee cover.
She gushes: “I honestly think you’re the best girl group that we’ve seen on the show so far. You look adorable together, I like the way you’ve styled yourselves and I definitely, definitely think you deserve a chance.”
But other singers in tonight’s show aren’t so lucky.
They include capella group from Oxford and St Andrews University, After Party and 29 year old investment bank worker from Essex Alexander who both fail to impress.
However vocal swing harmony group The Jack Pack – Adam 28, Alfie 24, Andrew 32 and Sean 32 – could give current BGT favourites Collabro some competition as they perform That’s Life by Frank Sinatra.
17-year-old Essex dancer Kieran Lai gives us The Tin Man routine to blow the judges minds with his body popping and there’s an equally good reaction for both 10-year-old pianist Curtis Elton and pole dancers Terri & Lisette.
But so-called impressionist Jenson Zhu splits the panel with his dress up gags as Simon slams him: “You are the worst impressionist I’ve ever seen, or heard, or had on this show. Dreadful. Awful. You’re a nice guy but it was terrible.”
Closing this evening’s episode is Eva Iglesias, a 40 year old supermarket personal shopper from Southampton.
She impresses the judges with a passionate vocal performance of Aretha Franklin’s Natural Woman.
David tells her: “We never have anyone, hardly ever who comes on sings with that passion and emotion. You really were singing from the heart, it was like your life depended on it.
And even Simon Cowell is close to tears, saying: “You came out here and that is one of the most beautiful songs of all time, written by Carole King, and her heart was broken when she wrote that song. I understand why you were giving it what you gave it.”
