Eastenders was the most watched show over the Christmas and New Year’s period to date. The most recent scene prevailed over film debuts.

The most recent scene destroyed motion picture debuts and comedies to be viewed by more than 8 million viewers the previous evening, the first program to have beaten the 8 million hindrance this happy period.
It was the show’s greatest rating for a considerable length of time, with the scene last arriving at those numbers back in April of this current year.
Over on ITV and the two portions of Coronation Street intrigued 7.8 million and 7.5 million while 6.7 million viewed Emmerdale.
Later on in the night and ITV’s Christmas Epic Fails satisfied its name with only 2.6 million viewers, in spite of the fact that the BBC didn’t toll excessively well either with The Muppets which had only 100,000 more viewers.
