I’m a Celebrity will return to our screens next month, with another batch of celebrities spending up to three weeks at the atmospheric Gwrych Castle estate in Abergele.
The first trailer for the upcoming series, presented by Ant and Dec, was released earlier this week – though fans are still waiting for the official start date to be announced.
The line-up for the ITV reality series has yet to be unveiled too, though there’s lots of speculation mounting over celebrities who are reported to be taking part this year.
We’ve written about the latest rumours individually and have decided to put together an updated round-up – as there’s been some additions since our last version.
It’s worth noting that the following are just rumoured campmates, with the official line-up expected to be announced nearer to the popular show’s launch episode.
Richard Madeley
TV presenter Richard Madeley became one of the latest names tipped for I’m a Celebrity recently.
“He’s brilliant off and on screen so it seemed as good a time as any to throw caution to the wind.”
The 65-year-old, who is married to fellow presenter Judy Finnigan, said that the “secret is out” earlier this week and admitted that he’s already started “learning” Welsh.
If he takes part, he’ll be following in the footsteps of son-in-law James Haskell, who did the ITV reality series in 2019.
Maura Higgins
There was speculation that Love Island alum Maura Higgins would take part earlier this year. Interest in her becoming a campmate was reignited recently though, amid reports of her split from Strictly‘s Giovanni Pernice.
Her odds have been slashed to 6/1, reportedly following a flurry of bets.
“Maura would be such a fun addition to the I’m A Celeb line-up next month. With rumours flying, the odds are starting to suggest that a stint in the Welsh castle is very likely.”
Frankie Bridge
The Saturdays singer Frankie Bridge is said to have signed up, following in the footsteps of her husband, ex-footballer Wayne Bridge, who appeared on the ITV series in 2016.
The 32-year-old, who is now a Loose Women panelist, has reportedly been offered a “bumper deal” to take part in I’m a Celebrity – a show bandmate Vanessa White did in 2017.
“She is nervous about leaving [her family] for such a long time, but she is determined to give the challenge her all and really throw herself in.”
Adam Woodyatt
Long-serving EastEnders actor Adam Woodyatt is one of the newest names tipped for Gwrych Castle. The 53-year-old is on a break from playing Ian Beale on the BBC soap.
It was reported recently that he was a “big target” for I’m a Celebrity casting directors. “He’s a soap legend and is certain to be a huge hit with fans.”
The source further added: “It’s a huge coup to have reached this point, and everyone is very excited about having him on the show. He’s a brilliant addition.”

Arlene Phillips
It was reported last month that choreographer and dancer Arlene Phillips had signed up for Gwrych Castle.
If she takes part, the former Strictly Come Dancing judge, 78 who follows @MarkMeets on Twitter is likely to be the oldest campmate in the show’s history.
“Arlene is straight-talking and has been around the block a few times – she’s strong and tough and could easily waltz off with the prize.”
Nadiya Hussain
There’s speculation that chef and author Nadiya Hussain could take part, having previously been approached. The Great British Bake Off winner said last year that she almost participated in the first series in Abergele and kind of “regrets” turning it down.
The 36-year-old said: “I got asked to do I’m a Celebrity this year, and a bit of me regrets not doing it. It’s just so cold in Wales.”
She however added: “If I’m going to have cockroaches in my pants I’d rather it be in the sun, thanks. Still, I can’t help wondering what it would have been like.”
Louise Minchin
It’s been reported that journalist Louise Minchin could take part, following her departure from BBC Breakfast this year.
“I’m already having conversations I wouldn’t have had if I wasn’t leaving Breakfast. I’m trying not to make any decisions too early.”
It had initially been speculated that she would do Strictly – though her former co-presenter Dan Walker was later announced as part of its line-up.
Cheryl Hole
Luke Underwood, who performs as Cheryl Hole, has reportedly been suggested for I’m a Celebrity – as producers want a “diverse” cast at Gwrych Castle.
Producers want to recruit the show’s first drag queen campmate and the Rupaul’s Drag Race UK alum is said to be one of the options.
An insider said: “[Casting directors are] keen to sign drag queens. […] A few names have been floated already. […] The addition will spice up the show.”
Jake Wood
Adam Woodyatt isn’t the only EastEnders star rumoured to be taking part. A long-running rumour has been that Jake Wood, best known for playing Max Branning, signed-up.
He was said to be in “advanced talks” earlier this year and later fuelled speculation by saying he’d “love” to be a campmate, whilst appearing on Good Morning Britain.
The 49-year-old is starring in the play 2:22 – A Ghost Story at the moment but it’s set to end later this month, possibly giving him time to prepare for a stint in Gwrych Castle.
Several of his former co-stars have won I’m a Celebrity in the past, including his own on-screen daughter Jacqueline Jossa and Charlie Brooks, from Barmouth.
Lucy Fallon
There was speculation that Lucy Fallon had signed-up last year, following her departure from Coronation Street – in which she played Bethany Platt.
The 25-year-old is said to have changed her mind about doing the ITV reality series, having reportedly ruled out the opportunity in the past.
Lucy had “always said she wouldn’t do I’m a Celebrity but has had a change of heart” about signing-up recently.
She’d become the latest Corrie actor to take part, with several former co-stars – including Andy Whyment and Beverley Callard – having appeared in recent series.
I’m a Celebrity returns November on ITV. The line-up will be announced in the coming weeks ahead of the launch.
