John Bishop lands new chat show on ITV

British comedian John Bishop has announced his own chat show on ITV

‘The John Bishop Show’ will see the Liverpool funnyman interview the “hottest names in film, TV, sport, music and more in front of a live studio audience”.

John Bishop set to be the new star of Saturday nights as the new ‘Doctor Who’ companion will be “be doing his trademark everyman stand-up”, plus he’ll have “a team of stand-ups from all over the world” join him.

We’ve been discussing making a Saturday night show for ITV for a while and I am so glad that we are finally going to be doing it.

“We want it to be up to date and topical, whilst also fitting the energy and fun that Saturday nights on ITV is known for.”

A source told MarkMeets – “John Bishop is to front a major new Saturday-night ITV show, featuring stand-ups from around the world” that will air across the network for six weeks.

The show is co-produced by the team behind ‘The Graham Norton Show’, So Tv, and will run for six weeks.

Meanwhile, John recently confessed he broke wind during an emotional ‘Doctor Who’ scene.

The TV star has joined the cast as companion Dan Lewis for the upcoming 13th series and admitted he had the “most embarrassing moment” of his career while he was filming with fellow newcomer Jacob Anderson.

He said: “Without revealing too much, we had to do this moment where we were in the green studio and we had to be standing against an opponent in a forceful manner.

“Jacob is a young, fit man. So I walked up and I had to deliver my line and I walked on, 10 steps and something left me more than words.

“I thought I would plough on and look straight in the camera, because nobody knows and nobody laughed.”

However, John admitted he soon realised he hadn’t got away with the awkward moment.

He added: “Jacob stood next to me and said, ‘I heard that’. Imagine standing next to an action hero like him and farting?

“So there may be one episode where it sounds like a bomb went off, but it is not a bomb.”
