Kiefer Sutherland and Stephen Fry are to star in ‘Marked’.
The ’24’ star and the 56-year-old funnyman are to appear in the one-off drama, created by Sky Arts’ popular comedy and drama strand ‘Playhouse Presents’.
‘Marked’ will follow the story of James (Sutherland), a seemingly regular guy who’s ground down by the pressures of work, family, money and life and – when he hits crisis point – agrees to an unlikely opportunity to make some easy money.
James’ disgruntled neighbour – played by ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ star Kevin McNally – asks him to do a ”hit” on a man in return for a large pay-cheque, however, when he arrives at the victim’s house he discovers things aren’t as they seem, and comes face-to-face with the last person he expects to see (Fry).
The drama was written and directed by Greg Ellis and reunites Sutherland and Fry, who both starred in the recent ’24’ reboot ’24: Live Another Day’.
‘Playhouse Presents’ is renowned for a number of acting, writing and directing debuts and the previous series of the 30-minute drama and comedies saw Cara Delevingne make her first television appearance in ‘Timeless’.
Director of Sky Arts, Phil Edgar-Jones, said of the upcoming episode: ”When Stephen and Kiefer agreed to do a ‘Playhouse Presents’ … It was like all my Christmases rolled into one.”
‘Marked’ will air on Sky Arts 1 in December this year.
