Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan have a sweet Charlene and Scott reunion ahead of Neighbours’ final episode

Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan have shared photos of their reunion after filming their final scenes for Neighbours.

The duo, who played lovebirds Charlene and Scott on the long-running soap over 30 years ago, took selfies while on set for the show, which was cancelled earlier this year.

Their characters will appear in the some of the show’s final scenes.

“Now we’re back together,” Minogue captioned the Instagram pics, referencing the show’s theme song.

Donovan shared the same photos on his own account.

“So good to be back with this absolute legend,” he captioned the post.

Minogue, 54, wore Charlene’s famous overalls in the photos and wrapped her arm around Donovan.

The pair famously dated from 1986 to 1989.

Donovan opened up about their split in 2016 saying “It was an extremely painful parting of the ways and, without a doubt, I took a long time to recover from it,” he said.

“Years, definitely.”

Charlene and Scott’s wedding was one of Australian television’s most-watched moments, with two million Aussies and 20 million UK viewers tuning in to watch the pair tie the knot.

Fans of the show were recently given the devastating news the long-running soap would finally come to an end this summer, after nearly four decades on the air.

“We are so sorry to say that after nearly 37 years and almost 9000 episodes broadcast we have to confirm that Neighbours will cease production in June,” a message from the broadcaster read.

“Following the loss of our key broadcast partner in the UK and despite an extensive search for alternative funding, we simply have no option but to rest the show.

“To our amazing, loyal fans, we know this is a huge disappointment, as it is to all of us on the team. We thank you for all your messages and support and promise to end the show on an incredible high. From here on, we are celebrating Neighbours.”

Channel 5 bosses confirmed to MarkMeets.com that the final episode of Neighbours would air on Monday 1st August 2022.
