Paloma Faith talks about The Voice 2016

New celebrity coach on The Voice UK Paloma Faith says she will be honest but not cruel to the wannabe hopefuls.

24 year-old London born singer Paloma was announced earlier this year as the replacement for Rita Ora, joining Ricky Wilson, Boy George and Will.i.am on the panel.

The four judges begin recording the blind audition stages at the end of the month and Paloma reckons she’s got a “good combo” that will work well on the show.

She told the Mirror : “I think I’m good at cultivating people’s talent that is there already.

“I also think I’m honest without being cruel and I think that’s quite a good combo for a show like that, because it’s not very helpful to tell everyone that everything they do is amazing.”

Meanwhile, Paloma explained how she comforted Sir Tom Jones after the Welsh legend was axed from the show this year.

“It’s not that I was let go, it is how it was handled,” Sir Tom said of leaving, amid reports that the BBC wanted to get rid of him as early as last year.

Paloma revealed: “I spoke to him about it and he was very upset about the way they handled his exit.

“That was sad for him, but I’m sure Tom Jones has got a lot of other things he can be doing because he is a national treasure and a legend. I don’t think he will lose too much sleep over it.”
