Last week on Strictly Aussie singer and reality TV star Peter Andre performed the Foxtrot scoring 28 points from the judges as he once again struggled to boost his marks and compete with the scoreboard leaders.
Tonight he is hopiong for better scores if his odds as second favourite to win the competition behind Jay McGuiness are accurate.
He and pro partner Janette Manrara will be dancing to ‘Do your Thing’ by Basement Jaxx and the whole routine seems right up Peter’s street.
“Anyone who’s called Charles should watch out because we are going to rock this,” he quipped.
The singer – who last month released his new album Come Fly With Me – said he is feeling confident ahead on this weekend’s show as he is performing the charleston.
“This week is insane because it’s the charleston and it is so fun,” he said. “I don’t know about top of the leader board but if I get it right it will by far be my best dance. I’m petrified if I get it wrong I’ll look like an idiot.”
Andre said he is finding the competition tougher than he expected.
“It’s been harder than I thought because you don’t just want to go out there and not know the moves, so a lot of the times I’m trying to make sure I get this tight and that right and sometimes it inhibits my performance.
“It was really important for me for the first week to get it right because it was the first time everyone sees you dance. There’s been some, like the foxtrot last week, that just wasn’t my best but I still got sevens so I can’t in any way complain.”.”
“I’ve been missing some Strictly rehearsals – which isn’t great – as I’m still busy promoting my album, but I can’t really complain because it reached the top five in the charts.”
Strictly’s back this evening at 6.30pm on BBC One.
