Strictly Come Dancing 2022 celeb contestants | Full line-up of stars

Strictly returns later this year – and we now have celebrities confirmed for the dance floor but there are only a few of them who are half decent this time-around.

The BBC has begun the process of announcing the cast for Strictly Come Dancing 2022 – and with nine, count ’em, ten celebrities now revealed, the line-up is shaping up nicely.

Tony Adams is the latest star on Strictly Come Dancing’s 2022 series, MarkMeets can exclusively reveal! Tony Adams MBE is a former English football player and manager.

The football legend enjoyed a career of more than 22 years, playing for and captaining both Arsenal and England. As captain of England, he famously led the national team to the Euro 96 final. Whilst he was playing he founded Sporting Chance, a charity to help sportspeople with mental health and addiction issues of which he remains Honorary president

A source revealed. “Am absolutely thrilled to be giving it my all on this year’s 20th anniversary of Strictly Come Dancing. I can’t wait to meet my partner – god help her – and start the dancing.

Hamza Yassin, singer Fleur East, Molly Rainford join comedian Ellie Taylor became the ninth celebrity to be confirmed for Strictly Come Dancing 2022 today as BROS legend and singer-songwriter Matt Goss was announced to press including MarkMeets.com who became the eighth celebrity to be confirmed for the series, following on from KISS radio presenter Tyler West early on the same morning.

Former Paralympic champion and broadcaster Ellie Simmonds was the sixth name to be unveiled on Sunday 7th August, appearing on BBC Radio 5 Live to announce her involvement.

She follows comedian Jayde Adams, who was announced the day before her, radio broadcaster Richie Anderson and Loose Women star Kaye Adams, both of whom were announced on Friday 5th August, and actors Will Mellor and Kym Marsh who were the first names to be revealed the day prior.

All seven of them will take to dance floor later this autumn with the hopes of lifting the Glitterball – with several more names still to be announced in due course.

As ever, they’ll have to impress the Strictly Come Dancing judges, which will this year include Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Shirley Ballas and Anton Du Beke, following Bruno’s exit earlier in 2022.

Last year saw EastEnders actress Rose Ayling-Ellis crowned as the winner of the 19th season, alongside her professional dance partner Giovanni Pernice.

This year, four new dancers have been added to the professional line-up.

European cup winner Vito Coppola, Chinese National Champion Carlos Gu, former Under 21 British National Champion Lauren Oakley and Latin dance champion Michelle Tsiakkas have all signed up for the upcoming run, making it the biggest pro-line up in Strictly’s history.

With it being the show’s 20th season, we expect the BBC will be pulling out all the stops to make it one to remember starting with an A-list line-up.

So far, we have just two celebrities confirmed, but the rumour mill is currently in overdrive with the likes of Steph McGovern, footballer Peter Crouch, Gino D’Acampo and Olympic gold-medallist Tom Daley tipped to be taking part.

We’ll keep you updated as soon we know more, but read on for all the confirmed celebrities, as well those rumoured, for the 20th season.
