This weekend’s Dancing On Ice 2014 twist has been revealed, with the remaining celebrities going head to head in a duel
It’s the return of a classic DOI twist that has featured on the show for the past three years now.
The duel will see two remaining couples skate at the same time, performing different routines to the same music.
In each head to head battle, the judges will pick one of the celebrities to give immunity from elimination, meaning only four stars will face the public vote at the weekend.
There will be no scores from the judges judges but they will be given critiques and the judges will have to agree on which person to make immune. If there’s any clashes then head judge Robin Cousins will get the deciding vote.
A source teased: “The twist instantly raises the level of competition.”
The duel pairings will be made up from last week’s judges’ scores so that skaters of similar ability will battle it out.
It means favourites like Ray Quinn and Hayley Tamaddon are likely to go head to head, although the official confirmed pairings are still to be revealed in due course.
After last night’s Dancing On Ice 2014 results, Hear’Say singer Suzanne Shaw, Olympic gymnast Beth Tweddle, Eastenders’ star Sam Attwater, Emmerdale’s Hayley Tamaddon, Pop Idol’s Gareth Gates, X Factor’s Ray Quinn, actress Bonnie Langford, and rugby hunk Kyran Bracken all remain in the competition.
Dancing On Ice airs Sunday nights on ITV.
