Where is I’m A Celebrity filmed in Australia?

This year’s season of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! is now well underway with just one week to go, with plenty of Bushtucker trials to go, and some surprising friendships made.

Mike Tindall MBE, Owen Warner, Boy George, Chantelle Douglas, Sue Cleaver, Chris Moyles, Babatúndé Aléshé and Jill Scott MBE remain in camp.

Boy george has ensured camp rows having already taken place as declares campmates ‘aren’t being themselves’.

During Saturday’s installment, the stars including the likes of Matt Hancock, Sue cleaver and Matt Tindall enjoyed a spontaneous game of What’s the time, Mr Wolf? while the Karma Chameleon hitmaker sat in the corner with comedian Seann Walsh.

So far the fiery clashes within the jungle have been pretty minimal, however, the 80s pop star is adamant there’s ‘no real love there.’

‘Whenever everyone’s being all well behaved, to me it doesn’t feel real,’ he began.

‘There isn’t love there, I don’t know these people and I don’t know them to love them. I love Chris [Moyles] because I know him, but to pretend we’re in a hippy commute and everyone’s getting on and not rock the boat detests me a little.’

Attempting to challenge his claim, Seann argued that his fellow co-stars were just enjoying an innocent game and that getting along was ‘nicer than the other option.’

Culture Club singer nearly threw the towel in after becoming disgruntled over a golf buggy.

The 61-year-old is thought to have had a meltdown when he became exhausted following a Bushtucker Trial and wanted to travel in the vehicle rather than walk.

According to sources, when crew members refused the request, Boy George stormed off and hid behind a tree to prevent the camera team from filming him.

As he concealed himself in the foliage, the insider said he pinched an apple from a shocked member of staff.

Attwood was forced to drop out after only one day. The first elimination then followed on Friday 18th November, with the rest of the campmates now very aware that their stay in the camp is on the line.

Charlene was the first to go on Friday.

Saturday, 19 November – No elimination.

Sunday, 20 November – To be announced.

There have been two surprise additions to join the I’m a Celebrity cast this year, with former Health Secretary Matt Hancock and comedian Seann Walsh having made a big splash upon their entrance.

However, this year it isn’t the chilly climes of the Welsh countryside the contestants have been contending with, but instead the Australian jungle, as the show has returned to its spiritual home.

The popular reality series was filmed in Gwrych Castle, Wales in both 2020 and 2021, after the pandemic meant the show had to be relocated from its usual Australian location in 2020.

“Returning to its home in Australia after a two-year break, our celebrities will leave their plush pads and luxuries far behind as they spend up to three weeks taking on the Australian jungle with a whole host of surprises created for them,” ITV teased.

ITV revealed earlier in 2022 that it hoped to return to Australia for the upcoming season, with Dec revealing on The One Show: “We love Wales but you know, Australia is its home and we’d like to get back there if we can.”

So, as the show returns to Down Under, here’s everything you need to know about the filming location for I’m a Celebrity 2022.
