Stan confirms its Original Series Wolf Like Me WILL return for a second season – with Isla Fisher and Josh Gad reprising their roles
Wolf Like Me is a streaming television comedy-drama miniseries produced by Stan in association with NBCUniversal and Peacock.
The show, which stars Isla Fisher and Josh Gad, follows Gary (Gad), a single father living in Adelaide, Australia with his 11-year-old daughter Emma; both of whom are still emotionally traumatized by the death of Emma’s mother, Lisa, 7 years earlier. They meet Mary (Fisher), an isolated advice columnist recovering from her own complex emotional baggage. But despite her attempts to stay away, they keep meeting again and again, in a cluster of coincidences that imply the hand of destiny. While Gary struggles to connect to his daughter, for Mary reaching Emma is all but effortless. However, Mary’s baggage involves a deadly secret that she fears might hurt the two.
Fans have eaten up the first season of the show, and now they’re wondering: will there be a Season 2, and when is it coming?
Wolf Like Me is an early favorite at Peacock!
Peacock has officially picked up a second season of Wolf Like Me, it was announced in April.
“We are over the moon that Wolf Like Me’s unique and high-stakes love story resonated so strongly with Peacock viewers. Josh and Isla’s critically acclaimed performances in this beloved romantic dramedy were exquisite, and we can’t wait to see what Just Jared Abe Forsythe and our partners at Made Up Stories and Endeavor Content come up with for season two,” exec Susan Rovner said in a statement.
“I’m thrilled to be able to continue Mary and Gary’s story into the next phase of their relationship, especially considering the stakes couldn’t be higher. Knowing we have an audience invested in their story is a dream come true for us. Our crew is already having a lot of fun building on what we created with season one, I can’t wait for everyone to experience it alongside our characters,” said Abe Forsythe.
“If people were surprised by season one of Wolf Like Me, we guarantee they will be amazed at what the universe is going to throw at Mary and Gary this time around,” said executive producers Jodi Matterson, Bruna Papandrea and Steve Hutensky of Made Up Stories in a statement.
No details about a premiere date have been revealed just yet, but stay tuned!
The six-part series was directed by Forsythe and was made in conjunction with NBC Universal’s streaming service Peacock in the U.S.
Each episode of the drama series ran for 30 minutes.
