A new captivating drama series, “You & Me,” is set to grace the screens of ITV, promising viewers a blend of modern romance and gripping thrills. Created by screenwriter Jamie Davis, this new London-based 3-part series embarks on an exploration of love’s complexities, the challenges of loss, and the courage to love again.

Described as a contemporary take on the beloved British romantic comedy, “You & Me” weaves a narrative that is both heartwarming and moving, confronting the very real struggles faced in today’s world. Davis infuses the series with warmth, lyricism, and enchantment, while also tackling profound themes that resonate deeply with the audience.

The story unfolds over two distinct timelines in the course of three episodes, unveiling the tragedies that have shaped the lives of three protagonists: Ben, Emma, and Jess. As the narrative transitions from “then” to “now,” a serendipitous encounter brings their lives crashing together, along with the lives of their loved ones. Given a second chance at love, the trio must confront their past and decide whether to embrace the possibilities of the future.

“You & Me” is scheduled to air on ITV2 starting from Monday, 4 September, at 9 PM. For those who prefer late-night viewing, the series will also be shown on ITV1 at 10:45 PM on the same day. Additionally, the full series is already available for streaming on ITVX, having been released earlier this year.

The series boasts a talented cast, including Harry Lawtey, known for his roles in “Industry” and “The Pale Blue Eye,” as Ben. He plays a young man whose life takes an unexpected turn when tragedy strikes on what should have been the happiest day of his life. Jessica Barden, recognized for her performances in “The End of the F***ing World” and “Pieces of Her,” takes on the role of Emma, a rising theatre star harboring a hidden tragedy behind her success. Sophia Brown, seen in “The Witcher: Blood Origin” and “Giri/Haji,” portrays Jess, a young woman whose life takes a dramatic twist while chasing a bus.

Harry Lawtey expressed his excitement about being entrusted with Ben’s story, praising “You & Me” for its exploration of love, hope, and the challenges life throws our way. Jessica Barden shared her enthusiasm for working with a talented cast and bringing a quintessentially British story to life. Sophia Brown highlighted the intricacy of the characters’ lives, emphasizing how the project captures the delicacy of love, loss, friendship, and parenthood in the modern world.

The series also features Julie Hesmondhalgh as Ben’s mum Linda, Andi Osho as Jess’s mum Pam, Janie Dee as Emma’s mum Hannah, and Lily Newmark as Joey, Emma’s sister. The production is helmed by Happy Prince, an ITV Studios company, with executive producers Dominic Treadwell-Collins and Alexander Lamb, along with Russell T Davies.

“You & Me” promises to be a captivating journey through the complexities of love, loss, and second chances, inviting viewers to experience the highs and lows of life in a modern world.
