Broadway comedy Hand to God transfers to West End in 2016

The hit Robert Askins’ show is heading to London next year

It has been announced that the Tony Award nominated Broadway show Hand to God will transfer to the West End in February.

Hand to God

The Broadway production is set to close in early January with performances starting in London’s Vaudeville Theatre on 5 February 2016.

Robert Askins’ comedy received rave reviews during its run at the Booth Theatre, New York. Billed as a “hilarious and heartbreaking new comedy”, Askins’ play centres around shy teenager Jason as his sock puppet Tyrone comes to life and takes on a shocking, foul-mouthed personality.

Producer Kevin McCollum said of the transfer: “Having played an extraordinary nine month run on Broadway, London is the natural next step for a new American play that is this exciting. We are thrilled that Hand to God will soon be experienced by audiences all over the world.”

Current director Moritz von Stuelpnagel will also direct the London production. Casting is yet to be announced.

Tickets to the West End production will go on sale in late October 2015.
