This September, Three Must See Theatre Shows Hit London!!

‘Thoroughly Modern Millie’ makes a welcome return whilst ‘And Then Come The Nightjars’ and ‘Tonight I’m Gonna Be The New Me’ will being a new reality of theatre show to London.

Thoroughly Modern Millie

This new production of Thoroughly Modern Millie, presented by SDWC Productions, marks the show’s triumphant return to London 12 years after it was first seen at the Shaftesbury Theatre.

Based on the popular movie and filled with frisky flappers, dashing leading men and a villainess, the infamous Mrs Meers, Thoroughly Modern Millie is a perfectly constructed show of madcap merriment.

Director Matthew Iliffe is one to watch. A recent graduate of the competitive StoneCrabs Young Directors’ Programme and one of the youngest directors on the London Fringe, Thoroughly Modern Millie is Matthew’s fourth production as director.

Thoroughly Modern Millie is at the Landor Theatre until Sunday 13^th September, 7.30pm with Saturday and Sunday matinees, 3pm.

And Then Come The Nightjars

Bea Roberts’ And Then Come The Nightjars opens Theatre503’s autumn season, marking the theatre’s first co-production with Bristol Old Vic.

This heart-wrenching play explores the devastating effects of the Foot and Mouth pandemic, which saw the slaughter of four million animals, the virtual closure of the countryside and the postponement of a general election. Against this backdrop Roberts depicts an intimate friendship between two world-weary men.

Royal Shakespeare Company veteran, David Fielder (All’s Well That Ends Well, Taming of the Shrew, As You Like It (RSC)) and Nigel Hastings (Othello, Henry VI Parts 1 – 3 (Shakespeare’s Globe), Journey’s End (Duke of York’s)) will lead a stellar cast in this production.

And Then Come The Nightjars is at Theatre503 from Wednesday 2^nd – Saturday 26^th September 2015, 7.45pm and Sunday, 5pm.

Tonight I’m Gonna Be The New Me

Made In China return to London with their new show, Tonight I’m Gonna Be The New Me, exposing how we conduct our relationships amidst a reality that just won’t live up to what the movies promised.

Tonight I’m Gonna Be The New Me is an arresting physical endurance act that crashes headfirst into an impossibly true love story – and out the other side. Based on the real relationship of founders Tim Cowbury and Jess Latowicki, it pierces the heart of our obsession with outlasting hardship. Intimate and startlingly immediate, it defies you to watch in spite of yourself.

Although based the rawness of reality, Cowbury and Latowicki then distance the story from reality and spin the truth into fiction.

Tonight I’m Gonna Be The New Me is at Soho Theatre from Monday 7^th September – Saturday 26^th September 2015, 7pm.
