Blake Lively went through her fashion statements this week from the start of her career at age 16 to her most recent Met Gala appearance in Versace.
The 34-year-old star was talking to press for their famous Life In Looks segment while wearing a peach blazer and top.
And at one point the conversation turned to her body and how there has been so much attention paid to her shape when she has been pregnant. She has three children with actor Ryan Reynolds: daughters James, seven, Inez, five, and Betty, two.
Fashion talk: Blake Lively went through her fashion statements this week from the start of her career at age 16 to her most recent Met Gala appearance in Versace.
When she turned to an image in the Vogue book from 2016 when she wore a blue gown to the Cannes Film Festival in France she noted she was pregnant but had not yet shared the news with the public.
Blake had a small bump in the blue gown but in other outfits she did not seem to be with child.
She said fans kept guessing and could not decide if she was pregnant or not.
And the star then shared that she thought that was worth a conversation. ‘Why do we obsess over women’s bodies?’ asked the Los Angeles native.

‘It’s just me showing up on a red carpet, like our bodies are ever changing and evolving, that doesn’t belong to anyone else,’ added the siren.
And she also told Vogue that she likes to stay ‘private’ about her children, which is why they do not do red carpets with her and Ryan.
The only time she took her kids on a red carpet was when Reynolds got his star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame in 2016; they had only their first two then.
Blake also shared she has tried to protect her kids even when they were in the ‘womb’ and that is why she did not like to be photographed much when pregnant.
In other parts of her sit down, the blonde bombshell kept the tone lighter as she named her favorite looks of all time while adding that she often dresses to impress her kids.
She began the interview with an image from Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants. She was 16 at the time and she said the shoes were very 2004.
Lively added the costars became her best friends, they are ‘powerful’ and became role models. ‘Each of the women are so different from one another,’ she said, and the fashion differentiated the characters.
Next came 2005, her first red carpet; Sisterhood was about to come out, she was still in high school. She said it as special because her sister was about to give birth.

The T-shirt was from Forever 21, the low rise jeans from Abercrombie and the heels from Aldo with a belt from Hot Topic.
Then she looks at a 2008 dress from Gossip Girl – a Ralph Lauren yellow floral print dress she wore on the show.
She credited Eric Damon, the costume designer of Gossip Girl; she said he made sure that the characters had their own ‘looks.’

And in 2009 came her Vogue cover, she was 21, Gossip Girl had been on the air for only a year, and it meant a lot to her to be on the cover. She said it still leaves her ‘speechless.’
The siren loved the iconic Veronica Lake style hairdo and thought the look was ‘timeless.’
In 2009 she was seen on SNL in a short red dress. She said she did not work with a stylist and never has. But for SNL she didn’t know what to wear. She said the show told her to dress herself as they only costumes her for the skits. She settled on a Top Shop mini with a sweetheart neckline.

2010: She was also seen in 2010 with Karl Lagerfeld, who she was a big fan of. Blake added they ended up getting eclairs and riding around in his convertible

An image of her pregnant in a yellow Gucci dress was taken at the 2014 Angel ball.
She said at this point she was so far along in her pregnancy that there was no way to hide it. And she was happy to share with the world that she was with child as it was better to do this on a red carpet rather than when walking down a street.

Then came an image of her in the 2015 film Age Of Adaline and said it was fun to wear the vintage looks as the character was born in 1900 and doesn’t age.
Blake said she ‘secretly’ got pregnant while making the film.
She then went over her blue dress at Cannes and how she was not comfortable with speculation over her pregnancy.
Next it was 2018.

She said she reminds her children of her regalness at the 2018 Met Gala whenever they are ‘giving her attitude.’
The actress told MarkMeets.com that if her girls play her up, she reminds them who is boss by showing them her Versace gown she wore for the fashion fundraiser’s Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination theme, complete with a crown, but her kids don’t get fooled.
She laughed: ‘It’s something that when my kids are giving me attitude, I’m like, “This is your mom.” I mean come on – I try to tell them that I’m real-life royalty and that they’re lucky that I’m raising them.

‘They don’t buy it. They don’t believe it.’
The Gossip Girl star always has a hand in the design of her ensembles and suggested several changes to make it all the more regal.
She recalled: ‘This one is actually a dress that they had made, but it had a train that was like this — it was a shorter train.
‘So, we took this dress, and said, “Ok, can you guys add like 8 feet of train? Can you add beading on the inside?” This had ruching in the middle, which kind of looked like it was too tight and pulling at the hips, so I was like, “We need to pick up that pattern here as well, so that it looks like a part of the dress.”‘
2021: She also shared that she wore Ryan’s clothing for her Betty Buzz ad. She went into his closet and took his favorite jacket by Ric Owens
Celebrity jewelry designer Lorraine Schwartz created the makeshift crown out of brass and brown diamonds and paired it with emerald earrings.
Blake added: ‘And this was just a headpiece that Lorraine made, with these brown diamond and brass — it wasn’t even gold, it was brass — it was like bendable hardware store brass.
‘These earrings she made the night before. She took these giant emeralds and stuck it on one of her sister, Ofira’s shield gold earrings, and she stuck an emerald on top, so, it was very makeshift.’
2022: She wanted to look like My Little Pony for the 2022 premiere of The Adam Project: ‘I wanted my kids to think I was fabulous.’ But she wanted to add a more bohemian look to the Versace dress
She was also seen in 2019 when she was pregnant and she had to go to the premiere of Ryan’s movie. She was so pregnant she could not longer hide it and decided to let the world know on the red carpet.

2022: Of the Met Gala look from this year she said the Versace gown changed colors from rust to green/blue because she wanted it to look like the ageing copper of the Statue Of Liberty
In 2022 she had a big yellow diamond sewn into her outfit for the Gem Awards. ‘It was like the heart of the ocean,’ she joked. The gems were from Lorraine Schwartz.
She revealed that she sewed the diamond into the dress herself in the car on the way to the awards show.

And there is a homage to the Empire State Building and Grand Central Station as well on the dress because New York City means so much to her.
She co-hosted the Met Gala this year with husband Reynolds.
