Cheryl Cole enjoys birthday with Simon Cowell and Mel B

X Factor’s Cheryl Cole celebrated her birthday with the judges last night.

The Girls Aloud star turned 31 yesterday and enjoyed a special birthday party some 30,0000 feet in the air as she flew to Edinburgh in time for the latest auditions this afternoon.

But while Simon Cowell and Mel B got into the spirit with party hats, together with the show’s crew, Louis Walsh was not in sight.

Cheryl tweeted the below picture on Instagram, writing: “Birthday selfies on the way to Edinburgh.

“Yes, that is Simon in a blue party hat #blame Mel B!”

Meanwhile, Simon himself tweeted: “Now what shall I get Cheryl for her birthday tomorrow? 40 is an important year.”
