Former Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger – who is in a relationship with Lewis Hamilton – enjoys taking flights alone because they give her the time to relax with a glass of wine and some new music.
On a recent ”self-date”, Nicole became ”inspired” by Brit Award-winner Sam Smith, after first being introduced to his music by her former ‘X Factor UK’ co-star Caroline Flack.
She told kiss radio: ”An artist that I’m particularly inspired by this year is Sam Smith. I have these, I call them dates, self-dates when I fly a lot. When I get on a flight, I have a glass of wine or two and I always buy a new album, and I listen to the artist and recently I bought Sam’s album and I just couldn’t let it go.
”I don’t know if it was the album and a combination of the glass of wine or two, but I was just in it, with him. God, that album’s killer, I’m really excited for him.
”My friend, Caroline Flack, actually turned me onto him because I was here a year ago and I was like ‘I don’t really know anybody here’ and she was like ‘come on I’m going to take you to Shoreditch’ and she took me to go see Sam perform.”
The 35-year-old beauty also admitted she was inspired by Beyonce at this year’s Grammy awards, who’s energetic dance routine encouraged her to get back to the gym.
She said: ”I was inspired, I remember when I saw Beyonce do Drunk In Love on that stage for – what awards show was it? [The Grammys]. I was like ‘Ooh, I been thinking too, honey!’ Getting back to my squats!”
