And for those who are looking for new spectacles, we have gathered a selection of series in the fantasy genre.

If you are more into games, then play 3 patti game online will interest you. Some of them are Game of Thrones-themed.

Why we love “Game of Thrones.”

The original series “Game of Thrones” aired on the HBO channel from 2011 to 2019 and became a significant hit these years; with each season, its popularity grew, and fans of the saga became more and more. The main action occurs between several clans, which, in one way or another, oppose each other and seek to seize the Iron Throne, giving power over all of the Seven Kingdoms.

The plot unfolds during a period of historical events fictionalized by the author, reminiscent of medieval Europe in an era of flourishing feudalism. It is evidenced by everyday life, clothing, the system of government, large-scale battles, and naval battles, which are present throughout the series and immerse the viewer in the atmosphere of the events.

  • Conspiracies;
  • political intrigue;
  • and unexpected plot twists have become the hallmark of the series.

The right note to justify the fantasy genre is set by fictional, mythical creatures: dragons, spirits, the undead, and characters like the White Walkers.

House of the Dragon

One of the most popular series of the past year, with the first episodes, is airing in August 2022. It also premiered on HBO and garnered more than 10 million views, the most in the company’s history.

The events unfold 200 years before the main plot of Game of Thrones and become its prequel. The heirs of the once-powerful House, Targaryen, begin to fight for the Iron Throne, and the conflict escalates into a war within the family, leading to the beginning of the end of their dynasty.

Like Game of Thrones, the series has elements of historical drama, the action also takes place in the kingdom of Westeros, and the plot is filled with palace intrigue and conspiracies, making it clear that watching all the events and the new pool of main characters will be just as fascinating.

The Witcher

The original series was released on the streaming service Netflix in 2019, and now two seasons are available for viewing; the creators of the series also announced the release of the third season, and to brighten the wait for fans, they promised to release a prequel “The Witcher. Origins”, which is scheduled to premiere in December 2022.

The plot is also based on a series of novels by Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski, which is combined into a series of works “The Witcher Saga. Few people have watched the Polish version of the series, but many remember the computer games created based on the job. The main character – Geralt of Rivia, better known as the witch, i.e., mercenary, is one of the last in his profession. He is endowed with supernatural powers, which help the hero to slay monsters, all kinds of monsters, and fight evil.

The series interprets various stories from the writer’s collections, which are formed into a logical storyline. The action is also set in a fictional world, where the entourage, like in “Game of Thrones,” resembles medieval Europe.

If the adventures of Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen were not enough for you, and if growing up you were fond of chivalrous novels about King Arthur and Lancelot, this series is for you.

Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power

Newly released in September 2022 on the streaming platform Amazon Prime Video. The first season has eight episodes; the second season is currently being filmed.

Most have heard of writer J.R.R. Tolkien and his seminal novel epic The Lord of the Rings. In his time, director Peter Jackson did the impossible and gave the world one of the best film adaptations of a literary work. Then there was a series of “Hobbit” films, less remarkable and pale in comparison to the greatness of the original film series.

Dark Materials

A fantasy adventure series based on a book by English writer Philip Pullman. Against the background of many, it stands out with an exciting storyline; it was not in vain that the BBC awarded the trilogy a well-deserved third place in the list of the same name of the 200 best books. The series was shot by a galaxy of directors, one of whom was Tom Hooper, who is known for such films as The King’s Speech!, The Danish Girl and the musical Les Misérables – the list is impressive. Filming took place in Wales, which is reminiscent of the scenery from the Game of Thrones.

The main character, the Girl Lyra Belacqua, lives an ordinary life until she searches for her uncle Lord Asriel, and not just anywhere but to the North Pole. Along the way, she meets fantastic creatures and learns about the existence of witches, a clan of terrible priests who kidnap special children. She has to figure everything out and immerse herself in a new, unknown world, save many lives and reveal her family’s secrets.

Currently, the series has two seasons, and the premiere of the final, consisting of eight episodes, is scheduled for November 2022! Therefore, you have time to review the previous series.

Salem

Even though the series can be called relatively old, it still has enough fans. Those who once watched it will remember it with pleasure and, most likely, recommend watching it. Salem aired from 2014-2017 on the cable TV channel WGN America; it became more popular with ordinary viewers than film critics; on IMDb, its rating was 7.2 points.

One of the musical themes of “Cupid Carries a Gun” was recorded as a soundtrack by the great and terrible Marilyn Manson, who was so inspired by the witch theme that he starred in one of the episodes with pleasure – his character can be seen in the third season.

The series takes place in the American city of Salem, Massachusetts. Actual historical events were taken as a basis when the Puritans began a mass witch hunt at the end of the 17th century. In the series, the era is played in the spirit of the best historical events; costumes and scenery are beautiful, and if you like one and the other, the general atmosphere will not leave you indifferent.

The central and most attractive part is the witches, who skillfully disguise themselves among the civilians without giving away. The action begins with the main character, who returns to his hometown and finds him seized with panic and general fanatical insanity on witchcraft.
