What do co-stars say about working with movie star Ryan Reynolds

Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds has a reputation for being one of the nicest actors in Hollywood and rarely has a day-off.

Forty-five-year-old Reynolds credits his career to one important skill: conflict resolution. He has recently spoken about learning to work with different personalities and leading with kindness.

“We live in a world that’s increasingly gamified, and I think we have an instinct to win, crush and kill,” he said. “But if you can disengage or disarm that instinct for a second and replace it with seeking to learn about somebody instead, that, as a leadership quality, for me, has quite literally changed every aspect of my life.”

Reynolds has bounced around a lot in film genres and sometimes he combined them.

Generally, people love working with him, praising the energy he brings to set and the way he handles tricky situations.

TJ Miller Has Called Ryan Reynold’s Behavior “Weird”

Controversial actor TJ Miller, who played Weasel in Deadpool and its 2018 sequel, recently said he wouldn’t work with Reynolds again after having “not a great experience” with the actor during filming. Silicon Valley sta4r Miller said he thought Reynolds was “kind of an insecure dude”, adding: “I would not have done Deadpool 3″

“Would I work with him again? No, I would not work with him again,” Miller said on the Adam Corolla Show earlier this month. “But I’ve said that about Michael Bay, and now we’re friends, and I would work with him again. But I think Michael Bay is different.”

He added, “We had a really weird moment on Deadpool where he said, ‘Let’s do one more take.’ And then as the character, he was horrifically mean to me as if I’m Weasel. So he was like, ‘You know what’s great about you, Weasel? You’re not the star, but you do just enough exposition so that it’s funny, and then we can leave and get back to the real movie.’”

But apparently, it was all a misunderstanding and the two actors have “emailed” and made up. Miller has been out of the spotlight for some time since sexual assault allegations were made against him in 2016.

Director Shaun Levy Calls Ryan Reynolds A Great

Free Guy and The Adam Project director loves working with Ryan Reynolds, explaining to Looper how rare it is to find an actor like him

On why Levy loves teaming up with Ryan Reynolds, he explained how rare it is to find an actor like Reynold. “I love Ryan on screen. I think he’s one of the truly great and last movie stars, and he might be the one movie star who is as brilliant at comedy as he is at the drama and the action,” Levy said.

“I love the guy on screen, but most importantly, I love him offscreen. He’s a true 360 filmmaker. We’re not just director and star, we’re fellow producers, and we’re in it together in every word of the script, in the edit, in the music, in the songs, all of it. I love that it really feels like an all-around and quite profound, creative brotherhood.”

Zoe Saldana Calls Ryan Reynolds Inspiring To Work With

The Adam Project co-star Zoe Saldana revealed that one of the most impressive traits about Ryan is also that “he writes his own material.”

She added, “He’s just so instantaneous with the responses of lines and things like that. It’s inspiring to witness that.”

Joe Keery Loves Working With Ryan Reynolds

His Free Guy costar, Joe Keery (who plays Steve in Stranger Things) had nothing but praise for Ryan Reynolds. He noted that Reynolds just thought “directorially.” He would have lines written or ready to be delivered in different ways, and that there was a lot of improvisation set.

Keery also said that Reynolds “wants to make people feel comfortable, so they’ll do their best work on set… He’s been incredible.”

Julian Dennison Calls Ryan Reynolds A Nice Guy

Deadpool 2 co-star, who was just 15 when he made the film said Ryan Reynolds was very “caring”.

“He was a really caring guy and made sure I was OK,” Julian, who was hand-picked by Ryan to star in the film, told Today Extra.

He also revealed that Ryan would bring his mother along on the set: “When his mother would come on set…he was really caring about her as well.” He also referred to the actor as being “down to earth” and “really cool.”

Wesley Snipes Hated Working With Ryan Reynolds

Blade: Trinity is known for being a tough set for all involved. It looks like Snipes didn’t quite gel with how Ryan Reynolds acted on set.

Even though Wesley Snipes reportedly unloaded most of his anger on director David S. Goyer, he reportedly referred to Ryan Reynolds as “that cracker”. On-set reports say that Snipes would avoid Reynolds on set. It looks like Snipes didn’t appreciate Reynolds trying to make him break on set!

“A lot of the lines that Ryan Reynolds has were just a result of Wesley not being there. We would all just think of things for him to say and then cut to Wesley’s face not doing anything because that’s all we could get from him.” Reynolds has shown no interest in rejoining the Blade franchise, showing distaste for those films when they were brought up in interviews.

Taika Waititi Admires How Comfortable Ryan Reynolds Is In Himself

Oscar-winning director and actor Taika Waiti teamed back up with Ryan Reynolds for Free Guy, years after the disastrous Green Lantern movie.

“Ryan and I have both got a similar sense of humour in regards to things like that,” he explains. “I find it really funny that I did that film. The thing is, it’s like when people shy away from things, and they don’t want to admit they’ve done something, or they don’t ever reference it, I find it worse,” he told Total Film.

“If an actor is brave enough or comfortable enough in themselves to acknowledge it, and to be self-deprecating, and to own that they have been a part of something that’s been lambasted a bit, then I think that’s great. Because when you can make fun of yourself, then everybody else understands: ‘Oh, we’re all in on the joke’. Because if you pretend it never happened, then it makes it kind of weird and uncomfortable for everyone. [Pauses] I still don’t have any idea what that project is. I’m not entirely sure which one you’re talking about.”

Ryan Reynolds Has A Long-Standing Relationship With Hugh Jackman

Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds have had a long ‘frenemies’ relationship, which stemmed from his appearance in the X-Men franchise. The pair are good friends and love to rib each other online.

“I met [Ryan Reynolds] back on [X-Men Origins:]Wolverine, and I used to ream him because I was very close friends with Scarlett [Johansson], and Scarlett had just married Ryan, so when he came on set I was like, ‘Hey, you better be on your best behavior here, pal, because I’m watching,’ and we started ribbing each other that way, and then it all escalated with the Deadpool thing and him calling me out, and trying to manipulate me through social media to do what he wanted.”

Their online joke has included mocking each other for their People’s Sexiest Man Alive accolades, when Reynolds was honored on The Hollywood Walk Of Fame and even made fake political ads about each other!
