Celebrities Who Love Their Motorcycles

The latest instalment of the John Wick movies depicts an exciting scene – Keanu Reeves fighting off Samurai-wielding enemies on motorcycles. Motorbikes are fascinating, not only as vehicles, but also as pieces of machinery. It’s no wonder that even celebs like Reeves are drawn to motorcycles, and some even collect them for their beauty and power.

Steve McQueen 

The actor who is known for riding a Triumph TR6 in the movie, ‘The Great Escape,’ tops the list of famous celebrities who are motorcycle enthusiasts. Off-screen, he was known to ride motorbikes, and even had a fabulous collection of them. In addition to Triumph bikes, McQueen owned motorcycles from Harley-Davidson to Indian makes. He also participated in bike races.

Keanu Reeves

Reeves, aka, John Wick in the action movie, first learned to ride a motorcycle when he was on the set of a movie while filming in Munich. He is reported to have asked a young lady who had an Enduro to teach him how to ride the bike. After that, he bought his first motorcycle, which was similar to the Kawasaki. Keanu is a co-founder of Arch Motorcycle Co, producer of custom made American motorbikes. The ‘Matrix’ star is a passionate rider, collecting Nortons, Harley-Davidsons, and Suzukis. Keanu says that, “Riding your bike is one of the greatest things you can do to clear your head and just feel the speed and the motion.”

George Clooney

Clooney was involved in a 2018 motorcycle crash on the island of Sardinia when a car strayed unto his lane. That shook him to the core, and he had to let go of motorbikes for a while. Undeniably, the actor had an intense relationship with two-wheelers. He and friend/producer Grant Heslov, had been riding bikes together for 40 years.

Ryan Reynolds

A lover of motorcycles since he was young, Hollywood star Ryan Reynolds has an impressive collection of bikes. It includes two-wheelers from Triumph, Honda and Ducati. The star of ‘Deadpool’ and ‘Green Lantern’ may not be chasing the bad guys on his motorcycles, but he’s cruising around the streets of LA on one of his beloved bikes. His fave is a customised Triumph Thruxton.

Tom Cruise

It’s difficult to imagine ‘Rain Man’ star, Tom Cruise, without a bike. Motorcycles were part of his films, from the Kawasaki GPZ900R in ‘Top Gun’ to a Ducati and BMW in ‘Mission: Impossible.’ He also has a fabulous personal collection of bikes. Apparently, he is the owner of one of the most expensive motorcycles in the world, the Vyrus, costing around $100,000.

There is no shortage of Hollywood celebrities who love motorbikes. While some may prefer supercars, these actors love bikes for the freedom to ride in the open air and to feel their power.
