The first trailer for the upcoming film “Hector and the Search for Happiness” has been released.
Similar to Ben Stiller’s hero in the recent “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty,” this film shows London psychiatrist Hector (played by Simon Pegg) embarking on a global quest to find out if happiness exists. Like “Mitty,” it is also based on a previously published work of fiction, (“Mitty” is adapted from a James Thurber short story that ran in The New Yorker in 1939 and “Hector” is based on French psychiatrist François Lelord’s debut novel from 2010).
“Hector,” which also stars Rosamund Pike, Christopher Plummer, Toni Collette, Stellan Skarsgard, and Jean Reno, was announced in 2012 and bows in the UK in the fall. A U.S. release date has not yet been set.
Simon Pegg today attends the UK film premiere of ‘Cuban Fury’ in London.
