James McAvoy admits that he never thinks he looks good on screen, however, the 35-year-old actor admitted that he loves the way he looks in The X-Men.
The Scots actor plays Professor Charles Xavier in the new film from the franchise Days Of Future Past.
He told What’sonTV: “I am not somebody who looks spectacular easily.
“I never get into my costume, make-up and hair and go, like, ‘F***ing hell, you look gorgeous’.”
He added: “Whenever I’ve had to play somebody who’s meant to be, for the sake of the story, attractive, I’ve always felt slightly uncomfortable, like… ‘I hope I can pull this off’.”
McAvoy, who is married to actress Anne-Marie Duff, said it was different for his current role as Charles Xavier, this time set in the 70s.
He said: “As my wife will attest, the Seventies is my favourite decade.”
On seeing his new look for the first time, McAvoy added: “I was like, ‘Yesss!’ I love the way I look in this film. It’s the only time I’ve ever done that in my whole career.”
